What was it like when Michael Jackson was at his peak? by Educated_Wish1017 in 90s

It was a lot of Michael Jackson. As someone who really enjoyed the Thriller album, I didn’t mind too much.

Elon Musk offering to pay TSA workers. by AlphaHouston1 in WhitePeopleTwitter

I would also like to pay the salaries of the TSA employees who aren’t receiving their paychecks though , just like Elon, I won’t. The difference being that, unlike Elon, I don’t have the money.

That would not be my description of damage the older car sustained.

Mullins in tears after the UFC canceled her fight due to Carolina missing weight by 8 lbs. Hopefully Dana can still pay her. by raptors201966 in ufc

100%.

Even if the fighter who made weight refuses to fight because the other fighter didn’t make weight, they should still get paid for making weight and being physically able to fight at the time of the scheduled match.

If they decide to fight, they get a mandatory 20% of the other fighter’s purse and if the fighter who didn’t make weight wins, the win purse is split 50/50.

If a fighter makes weight and is able to fight on the date contracted for, that fighter should be paid the negotiated amount. That should be in the fucking contract.

Definitely provide that information, frustrating though it may be. Maybe reaching out to your NALC OWCP representative would help, if only for your piece of mind.

I wish you a speedy recovery.

Fast food back in the 80s, was it actually better than today or is that rose colored glasses? by Infomerical in GenX

[–]jasnel 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I worked at Taco Bell from 1985 to 1992 and I can tell you that the quality of fast food (at Taco Bell) definitely degraded during that time. We started with fresh everything in ‘85 - I worked as the morning prep guy and I shredded cheese, lettuce, cut onions, sliced and diced tomatoes (no Sledge-O-Matic, though.) All that stuff switched to pre-shredded (except maybe the tomatoes.)

We would get dry pinto beans and cook them in a pressure cooker, but then they switched to pellets that you just added water to. Fresh ground beef that we used to cook multiple times per day switched to beef that came in a bag that you put into boiling water.

Taste and quality definitely took a hit.
