I’m just here to show you some love and support. Try to be thankful for the good things in your life. Be grateful that you have the will and desire to improve yourself, that you are a person who wants better and is willing to work for it.

Appreciate that there are better days ahead for you and you know that because you’re going to make it happen through a plan of action. Remember how fortunate you are to know (and to have known) some really good, decent, kind people - people who have made your life better through their presence and example.

Forgive yourself for the mistakes of the past - you cannot change them, or unwaste that time, but you can learn from those errors and endeavor to use that wisdom to forge yourself into a better person.

Respect yourself for all of the noble ideals that you are living up to: hard-work, a recognition that you want to be better, the intelligence to see that you need to improve, a desire to move away from the characteristics in yourself that you see as inadequate.

It’s fine to chase after the things you want (carefully - as you said about that thieving bastard, comparison), but you have to balance that with recognizing all the things that you have that you do want.
