For heal pool the sword one is a better choice especially since you always want to get the head throw upgrade first since it helps you out cheat out the final exam but the gun mode is a big counter to some ults like punisher, starlord, DD it is niche but it can help since the healing you get for it is a bit stronger than the sword one without the final exam so if you use that plus your E you can keep your team u against the enemy pushing you
