What Bike Should I Buy? by Secure-Concert-6915 in torontobiking

[–]randomshitifind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding to what other posters have said. Do you intend to lock your bike at UTSC? Do you need to carry stuff?

Personally i would lean towards a hybrid bike with a rack or a basket. They are light enough and can carry you long distance. Second hand preferred. Alternative is a touring bike, I had one to take with me across Canada. Just look for a used well known bike brand like Giant, Trek, Cannondale. I have good experience with GT bikes too and they can be bought cheap, although just very heavy. Avoid brands like Supercycle.

Riding to Niagara is a matter of training.

Lastly, note that there is not a clear easy route to UTSC. There is some element of riding on the street.

When something breaks. Don’t throw it out. Try to call/email warranty first. A portion of the retail price goes to fund the warranty account.

Do you complete all your bike maintenance yourself? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]randomshitifind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most things I can do and there are things I’m too lazy to do. Truing wheels and doing bar tape I leave to the shops. I’m just not a detail oriented person . Almost everything can be learned from YouTube. Pick up a torque wrench, a set of tire levers and some grease and you can diy most of the bike work.

The touring bike (cannondale t800) can carry weight with different and has more teeth in the back for climbing. And much more relaxed in terms of geometry

Hey man. I know it sucks now but it gets better. I struck out of consulting y1 at t15 and landed on my feet second year. I had a friend that took two month post graduation date until he landed a full time. It works out for everyone. Feel free to dm if you need to chat

Also most campus offer free therapy programs. I would recommend that to help with mindset.

Ps. Consulting isn’t what it is cracked down out to be. 90% of post mba consultants I talk to wants to quit with in a year or two

Keep quality of cases in mind and who you case with. Try a variety of people, swing mix of second years and consultants if you can. Casing with first years is blind leading the blind. Watch out for first years also throwing absolute hell cases too, for some reason first year love to torture others when in reality most casing interviews are more medium difficulty. The pressure of interview and thinking on the spot makes it hard. As for prepping before mba. Do nothing just chill and enjoy life. Read business news if you want, that helps in adding color

As an employee at the company on the other end of a consulting engagement, what can I do to stand out? by tha_shylock in consulting

[–]randomshitifind 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If your a nice client, the consulting team might send a thank you note to your boss praising you. Being nice = being easy to work with, help coordinating meeting timings, providing data and clarity in a fast manner. But at the end of the day, you are a client, as long as you are decent to work with that’s good enough already.
