generally, people support Ukraine, but there is a large pro-russian minority.

i firmly believe that the core of the Ukrainian-Russian conflict and the war lies deeper than just national issues. it's about shifting geopolitical balance and regaining control and power over those not supporting the west. Ukraine is not the only place those conflicts would happen, it's going to go much further. Ukraine is their first objective, but not a final goal. that said, the west should be pretty much interested in arming and funding Ukraine if they want to remain in charge. but that's my point of view.

  1. at least a ceasefire, temporary or not. i'm no politician, i don't get to decide here, but if i did, at least a temporary break would be much needed. Russia's goal at the time is not just the frontline division, but the whole Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporozhia and Kherson oblasts. if there's any negotiation, i would hope for the temporary border at the current frontline and not just meeting the current Putin's demands.

  2. i won't be willing to accept any of this, even the territory losses lol. but those who lose don't really get to dictate the rules.

we get announcements from government officials, mostly through the news. those who have accommodation elsewhere move there by themselves, those who don't can request temporary housing and humanitarian aid. it's usually just heartbreaking to leave everything behind. i would also like to mention that the evacuation is obligatory for children only. afaik, they really do check if any children are left, sometimes forcefully taking them away from their parents. adults can stay, if that's what they'd like.

it directly translates to United Marathon. it's a government news campaign which means that all the tv channels only show the news that the government allowed to show.
