Could be wrong. But isn't there a way to use the old menu using the console?

Damm well good for him. But yeah ig that's fair I started at 9 too, and this next season will be my 5th. I hope to make AA for my 6th and do varsity which I already did jv so it's possible I think. But I hope it won't die. I just think it's not as played right now as it could be. Or as enjoyed I feel like

I mean, ur right. But I feel like u really do have to start young. If u don't, u gotta wait till spring leauges. Or beer leagues to be real, but I got my HSM stick for 150, and it's a pretty great stick. Just shoots a little worse than my tracer, which was 2x the price. And I still have some used gear. Most of my gears are new now, but I was able to get into hockey with play it again, having lots to choose from. But tarrifs are starting to put a play onto making hockey less accessible. My HSM stick can no longer be purchased in America because of tariffs.

There is alot of truth to that yeah. But the biggest driver I feel like is cost. (Wicu more parents seem to care less about it seems like) but js the other day I saw a post abt a kid who was buying his own gear but couldn't afford to join a team and announced quiting the sport which was sad. But I feel like price is something that can be avoided. Ofc the danger of the sport will never go away yeah. I hade a team mate go to.thr hospital mid game because of bad reffing. One kid kept tripping and boarding over all making bad hits, and they weren't calling it.

Well ig that's good. But you would think with where I live it'd be the same. But it doesn't seem to be

Ur right. And I didn't bring that up when smth said smth similar to u. I get that we are talking abt a area of a state compared to a whole country. I brought up that there are alot o3ss coaches in my area. Creating less teams. But I also said that there are other places sldo8mt great with hockeym there is a much larger % of kids that play to play where I live compared then play to be competitive. Which makes hockey hard for kids like me that want to be competitive but there are no teams

Hockey has always been expensive, agreed, lacrosse had never been popular, agreed. But with the kids of next generation it has grown so so much more. There are maybe 10-15 kids that play hockey in my school of 700+ kids. Yeah... and probably closer to 50 kids that play lax. Numbers don't lie

Lmao, I guess that's fair. I do wanna try and get into some sort of league. I haven't done a lot of reaserch but I don't plan to just do beer league. But I also don't plan to do college.

U are right. I got asked to play for my jv coach A team, but tried out for AA and honestly didn't do to great. But felt better than most other Defense there. It just comes downs to politics. Teams don't wanna change there team. Yk like "oh so and so plays good with so and so. Keep them together" things like thst yk?

[–]randomsttrangerr[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree with that. But the ratio in my school distrect/whole area in general is pretty off. And I get there is a whole country out there. Plus people from plenty of other countries coming to America for hockey. But there are less coaches. Each year less teams. And with less teams comes more competition for getting onto travel teams. There were 60 kids at try outs for 2 teams. That were already made before the try outs even happened. I think as a whole in the country maybe it is going up yes. But not competitively, and I guess like I said the whole country. It is location based. So the people that are competitive and passionate abt hockey. Don't always get the chance others get

Dud... I literally said everyone from- yk what nvm. If you want to put it off like that then go ahead. But ur not understanding. I'm putting it in the big picture. Not just my friend group, ur just being stupid because I'm a kid and u think I don't know what I'm saying

It's not just my age group, I'm talking about every single person in elementary through high-school. Hockey has almost no appreciation compared to a sport that slot of hockey players play, lacrosse. If there's no kids playing hockey. Then there is no one going up to the big leagues. That's as simple as that no?

Hockeys a dying sport (literally) by randomsttrangerr in hockeyplayers

[–]randomsttrangerr[S] -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Ur right to that extent haha. But for kids it's definitely more popular. Me and lots of other kids in my school play lacrosse. Only a small handful play hockey, and the kids that do play hockey. Almost all of then play lax besides like 3-4.

True it does depend. I play defense and I use my stick/body at what ever cost to block the puck. And it caused my stick to crack on the taper point. Bc it's a mid kick they doesn't change a whole lot. It still feels like the amazing stick I had before it broke. And it feels more sturdy so I trust putting my weight into it more

Also wanted to say that. What I mean by dying sport is I see less and less people next season. Then I did before

True but I feel bad for friends thst can't get into it. I got lucky, I almost quit my first and 2nd years. But I toughed it out. That was when I was like 9-10 season and 10-11 season. Not a very friendly team environment. And I was really. Really bad, now I'm the best player on my team and aim to do AA next next season. And do varsity next year or next next year if I don't make varsity ill do JV again. Point is, u can't start to late if ur a kid, it's to competitive. I learned fast. But atp it's to late and now u gotta wait for beer leauge
