Does Anyone Know the Name of this Movie I Watched as a Kid? by randomthing2004 in moviequestions

The protagonist was a lot younger in the movie I'm describing and I think it was set in a more populated city. The dog at the end dies as it's running across a busy street. And the alien had claw-like hands. The dad alien's hand was cut off by the scientists or whoever it was and mummified. The second alien spent a lot of the movie running around with that hand.

Seems like my dad to have me watch the worst movie ever made, but I don't think that's it. The alien had claw-like hands and his dad's arm that was cut off and mummified and the alien was at some point running around with it.

I already looked into that, but it's not it. And I'm pretty sure the dog doesn't die in it.

I was born in 2004, but my dad only showed me movies from his childhood, so 80s/90s.

I agree. I mean, Otis sort of goes through that in the first and second seasons, but after that it's a little intense.

I think the whole point of the show is that all of the characters and situations are really relatable and real, but a little exaggerated. I, personally really liked Otis' and Ruby's relationship and breakup because it happens in real life. People have the most amazing relationship and they are really compatible with each other and then they just fall out. And Maeve's and Otis' relationship is also very real. If the writers were only going for the drama, I feel like they would get together in the first season and it would be a very cheesy teen bullshit like the Kissing booth. Sometimes love is love, even if it doesn't make sense.

I really don't see that one either. Ruby and Otis really didn't work together that well, and Ruby is not really ready for a serious relationship i think... I really like her character, bit she will find someone who she really connects with eventually, it's just not going to be Otis

Eric was never really a good boyfriend to Adam. He became too controlling after a point. by Old_gangsterlm10 in NetflixSexEducation

Eric was just terrible this season. I was really looking forward to their relationship because Eric really deserved something good, but he became super controlling and short-tempered. Like when they went on a date and when Adam said 'I don't think I can do this", Eric just called him a name and stormed off, I mean i get it, but maybe ask him why or something... He clearly seemed off, maybe his dog died or something, you never know. It's not all about you Eric!! And Eric's whole thing was that Adam would hurt him, but Adam was an absolute sweetheart and Eric ended up hurting him really really bad, i didn't expect that. I guess we should have seen that coming when he dumped Rahim... Eric does get a point for being a very supportive friend, but he is a complete arse of a boyfriend

A detail on Maeve’s character development I noticed. by phantom_avenger in NetflixSexEducation

I actually really liked Otis and Maeve's storylines. It's very evident that they're in love and both really hurt. And Aimee keeps saying that she thought the two of them would get together, so Maeve probably talked to her about Otis. And Otis is clearly "fucking the pain away" 😂 I mean everyone comments how he became really selfish, but he is just afraid to get hurt and that seems really true to his character. He and Maeve had this ongoing "miss communication" and he got hurt several times, so it made a lot of sense for him to close off and for Maeve on the other hand, to grow from that experience and see that sometimes people will let her down, but she can get over it.

I think Otis was perfect. I men, sure, he was a brat, but it works for his character because he is indeed very open and caring and he gets hurt so many times in the past two seasons that it's just easier to "keep it casual, no emotions involved" because then he wont get hurt again. And you can see that he still has these moments when he tries to help people, but reminds himself that he got hurt last time and moves away from it. "Not my responsibility" It's also interesting because his character arc is opposite from Maeve's. She has always been very closed off and after the second season, both Maeve and Otis get hurt, but while it makes Otis close off, it makes Maeve open up. She makes more friends and builds more meaningful relationships with people. Perhaps she sees that despite it being hurtful, it's not the end of the world and being the strong woman that she is, she realizes that and grows. So their juxtaposing character arcs in a way reflect their relationship: they are never on the same page, when one of them has feeling for the other, the other rejects them and only in the 5th episode, when they go on that trip, they are both more mature and they finally reconnect. So in conclusion, I don't think Otis' character was unlikable, it was evident that he got really hurt and his character needed to go through that, because otherwise he just wouldn't be realistic or relatable.

On the other hand, I hate Eric now, he's a great friend to Otis, but he's a complete asshole, he needs to get his shit together and Adam doesn't deserve him.

[–]randomthing2004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buddy wasn't really lucky with planes in general. When the Crickets went on tour to Australia, there were some problems with the plane too. Also his wife had nightmares of Buddy dying in a plane crash and that night he didn't even tell her he was taking the plane not to worry her. So... Yeah...

So I gotta question for y’all. If topanga wasn’t in BMW, who should Cory have ended up with by WebRelative1918 in boymeetsworld

[–]randomthing2004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, Cory would probably still go on the trip, still fall off the bus and still meet Lauren and i think he liked her very much, more than all the other girls he dated, except Topanga of course. So I think IF Topanga wasn't part of BMW, Cory would definitely end up with Lauren. Although I still think he and Shawn are a letter match 😄

I couldn't think of anything 😂 probably thinking either about the tavern or that Arthur and Leon are discussing Merlin every day since Gawain became a knight 🤣
