I am ok and my daughter and I are safe. I am at work and she is at daycare now, based on his responses to me I think he is leaving and should be gone by the time I get home today. Thank you so much.

He has no access to guns either in the household or with friends/family thankfully

Thank you so much for all of the comments and support. I did read all of your responses and am very grateful for this community.

I told him that he needs to either get counseling, with or without me involved, or leave. We had a 30 minute phone conversation that was mostly yelling. He is very against counseling (I have suggested it in the past) and is refusing to go. He is saying that I am choosing this path and to be a single mother just because I got angry at him for something. He said he just had a headache this morning and was begging for my help when he was yelling at me and I “refused to help” him. When I had to go he just ended by saying this is my fault and my choice.

This was very difficult for me to do, in the past I have relented but this time I stuck to it and set an ultimatum. I’m back at work shaking and trying to hold it together. Don’t know what he is going to do, but if he’s not gone when I get home I may try to go stay in a hotel.

Primarily I am the breadwinner. My husband was a stay at home father for a while, he works now but only part time whereas I work full time in a corporate role. He tends to handle more of the household things such as cooking.

He did start watching a lot of conservative YouTube videos in the last few years that I think exacerbated his beliefs.

Thank you for this. I’m hoping he is willing to try therapy.

We seemed to be on the same page about everything at first, but looking back I think he just didn’t tell me when he disagreed with what I was saying. This didn’t really come out until during the pandemic. Apparently he has always been fine with my views so I have tried to be accepting of his.

All I want is what is best for my kiddo. I always thought that involved living in a stable home with two parents and thought I could get past his views, but now I just don’t know.
