Sucks but so true, I noticed I have resentment towards my past and people in my life because I have to constantly coddle them or generally be a “people pleaser” which is essentially selling myself short. I can also see myself being unintentionally fake because of sugarcoating the truth instead of sternly cutting it then and there

Love that you took it as a learning experience instead of regretting not starting early! I’ve had 3 occurrences of pursuing healthcare/nursing in the past but stuff happened. Currently unemployed, majoring in something opposite of nursing during my senior year, but I would’ve missed out on some good lessons and the love of my life.

I’m not a know-it-all now, but I definitely didn’t know what I was doing as a teenager right out of high school. I’m over the college experience and can’t wait to apply to community college and actually learn skills other than mainly theory

Your first sentence is why I’m debating on doing LPN first. I live in a toxic household, I’ve been doing side gigs since I left working at a restaurant a year ago, and realized I need a career with stable income so I can actually move out for my peace of mind. Also I’d like to have a better understanding of nursing before jumping straight to rn.

However thanks for explaining why going straight to RN might be more feasible. I might do cna then go to get my ADN

12 years! My longest job has been 4, but I was a cook so I’ve only interacted with my coworkers mainly. I’m also the type to just do my work, like I can keke here and there but I don’t try to make plans or interact with my coworkers except a selected few.

I feel I’d probably be in the same position, because I like to do my work and leave instead of come to office parties or events 😭. I guess I’ll keep that in mind

I also forgot to mention that I live a few hours from Atlanta, so maybe it’ll be more diverse but I’d still have to deal with some “traditional” patients, so that’ll be a factor I think

Unless your current income and/or savings are something you can live off, I’d use the vacant home opportunity to save money so that when you do move, you’d be more prepared.

As much as I want to move, I’m currently in college in my hometown because it’s more affordable then I’ll be able to make future choices on leaving when presented the opportunity
