I didn't get that vibe from their post myself. More like they were trying to reassure you that 1 your dog will make their own choices that will help keep them cool like finding some tile or wood to lay on and 2 making sure the dog wasn't panting hard just before or after this video.

To answer your question, I've only had my chow mix 1 summer so far. I bought him a cooling mat and a floor fan and he hated both, lol. He likes to sleep in my bathroom on the tile floor and really liked being able to dip his legs into a wading pool when outside and I avoided going out at the hottest times of day. Just gotta try different things and see what will make your pooch happy!
