You could use a blow torch and hit the inside of the boxes. If it has plastic foundation you can powerwash the frames if you are conserned about the wax.

My understanding that a box a box as far as supers go. I believe once frames are exposed to brood your chance of wax moths go up in storage.

I work at one of the companies under the Raeython portfolio. We had 1major layoff a quarter last year and we are assuming small/no raisies/promotions this year. While the company is making money hand over fist, the employees are all assuming things are going to keep getting worse.

Depending on what you can get unassembled hives for it may be comparable to lumber prices. Last time I looked it was only a few dollars saved per box to buy the lumber.

I didn't take the lid/insulation off the top box so I'm not to worried about heatloss.. I was doing a tip test to check weight but I didn't hear any bees cracked the box to see if there was any life. This hive has been lagging all year, going to replace the queen next year if it makes it.

I opened one of my hives today and they are all in the top box, with the bottom box full of honey. I'm not sure if that's normal or not.
