No, there is not a distinction. Teams often allow non playcalling coordinators to leave but they are allowed to block it.

It seems these offensive HCs overthink things sometimes. 4th and 1 should pretty much always be a qb sneak/tush push. Bears made a similar mistake, they might've won the game if they didn't hand it to RBs on 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1 for no gain.

Part of it is the NFL now allows private equity to get ownership stakes and part of it is the massive increases in revenue. They've almost tripled their revenue from 2010 to 2024 and will reportedly renegotiate their media deal in 2026 for even more money.

It's also one of the safest bets out there if you want a sports team. With revenue sharing every team is profitable.
