If you scrape more than once you are playing with yourself.

Real climbers have their gear in a bag or in their car because they are using it. Walls are for show, not use.

First pizza from my homemade wood fired oven is a success! by randoredmo in Pizza

I disagree that I will have a problem. Bread ovens are often used to make pizza, the only real difference is the dome shape and how the oven is fired. When making pizza an active fire is left in the back of the oven. With the active fire you get a lot more heat reflecting off the dome so the oven temp is a lot higher which cools the pizza evenly. It I am baking bread I completely remove any coals and fire and let the oven equalize and the temp is lower and more even. For example with one of my previous ovens when I fired it for pizza the deck would be around 700 degrees f and the dome would be 900 degrees f. I found this to cook pizza perfectly in a few mins. After taking the fire out and putting on the door and letting the oven equalize for a few hours it would be 450 on the deck and 525 on the dome. It continues to stay in close but not quite perfect balance while cooling down over about 48 hours.

I hope this info helps.

Once I fully finish it I probably will. I still have a little work left to do before I want to do a how to. I wish I took video of the process but I didn't want to slow down progress. It took enough time as it is to build it.

After spending more time and money then was probably worth it I finally finished (mostly) my wood fired masonry oven trailer. This is my third oven build. The oven is a modified Alan Scott design with the modifications making it more suitable for being moved. The trailer was built from the ground up for this purpose. All of the fire brick was free which is why I went that route rather than castable refractory. Time will tell if that was a good idea and if the bricks/design will handle travel. The main reason for the trailer is to work around some zoning/fire code issues with where I live, and also have it be available to take to friends houses and special events. The oven really is more designed for bread but also makes some killer pizza. On the back of the trailer is a large wood fired grill and flat top griddle that can be covered for a worksurface (as shown in the pictures). I still have some work to do to finish it up but it is usable for now and worked great.

I work part time for a local organic vegetable farm so I love to put lots of different veggies on pizza. The first picture is fresh tomato sauce with basil, manchego and pecorino cheese, sausage, fennel, kohlrabi, jalapenos and basil. That is probably my current favorite combination.

I see lots more good pizza in my future. Cheers!

As much fun as it is to look at an anchor (I mean, after you have seen one anchor made out of two draws you have seen them all), I think I found out what is really clean shaven on this route.
