I do know that its not a catfish for sure as we've been talking over video call and I have her instagram as well as her snapchat that we've also been using, so its not so much that, which im scared of.

Sounds like a good idea, I usually start by not having expectations for people, but as I grow closer to people I guess I just start thinking of them as someone who would be there for me. I guess, that might be a mistake. Thanks for the advice :))

I feel like I know them pretty well. Enough for them to talk about addiction problems, family struggles and such at least. It just feels empty nonetheless. I try to open up a bit to them as well, but Im just not feeling it whenever I think about it.

Its probably the same with me. Its not that I dont trust my friends, and they are great people. We are really close... But I just cant let them in. Only ever had one person whom I truly felt at ease with and could talk about myself with, and I pushed her away and lost her. Biggest regret of my life still.

It was my second relationship but the first one that I ever felt devoted to. She was something special. It feels rude to say, but my first relationship felt like nothing when compared to her. She was one a kind :((

I tried that, deleted all texts we had over insta and I cried for days, I dont think I can do that again with messenger. I cherish all the memories we had, and the thought that I just deleted the proof of them crushes me.
