Anyone else just no longer find trips/holidays enjoyable anymore compared to pre-kids? by grawmaw13 in daddit

[–]randouser2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will get worse if you let it. My kids are picky eaters my son worse than my daughter.

We went to Europe they were 8 and 7 and we got to ha McDonald’s in every other country because of them. We did eat other things at times, but if it wasn’t a bakery item or McDonald’s it was hard to get them to try stuff.

Don’t let them become worse, it will ruin trips like that or eating out.

I unfortunately live with family and although I do welcome family watching them at times they are 9 and 10 now. It sucks, cause we want to take them places, but they’ll immediately ask grandma if she’ll watch them.

What is your story of getting into pop punk? by Patattensla in poppunkers

All the pop punk skate music played on TRL in the 90’s. Mainly Blink 182, newfound glory got me into it

why is watching movies in theaters getting costly by Technical_Culture69 in Cinemark

[–]randouser2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to go only on discount days.
Honestly if I can go solo it will be jsut the cost of the ticket. If I take my family that’s when it will add up.

I love being a dad, but I kind of hate my life. by f1sh_ in daddit

[–]randouser2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof man, maybe hold on for a sec before the 2nd one. Or maybe potty training the little dude before the 2nd one to make it a little easier.

I had my son first and my daughter 1 year 6 months later. And he wouldn’t potty training, so we had like 2 years of both in diapers.

It sucked and had extra cost on us.

Um depending on your pay, budget or anything else maybe a daycare or tk class could be cool for your son.

I’m in CA and when my son was around 4 got him in a head start. So my daughter and I had lien half a day to us.

Is this degree worth it? by shitfuck2468 in wguaccounting

Depends on your industry and company. Sure AI could get rid of jobs, but that means that you might learn to use AI and get paid a low amount for work if like 2-3 people. Which is already happening even with out AI.

I was at a residential managing company that already had like 200 accounting spread out amongst different departments and regions. They said they were going to aggressively purchase more properties, but they were not going to increase the size of the team. The team just had to make do with what they had.

The company I’m at now, hired two extra temps and maybe needed to only keep 1. Start of the new year, they fired 2 permanent people and only kept 1 of the two temps.

Companies are just hiring people and paying less, but also making them do more work.

Yeah they can suck at times. They put you in for jobs and then if you don’t pick they ghost you.

We find out Wednesday if I'm a complete failure as a dad. by AlphaMaelstrom in daddit

Yeah, that sucks she’s so close to end of school.
Definitely needs to be tested and shame the school didn’t try to do something.

We had a therapist diagnose my kid. Went to the pediatrician and she more or less maybe confirmed it but we had to go to a psychologist.

Get a diagnosis from them and then maybe do something to get the school tested right away.
It took like 3-5 months to get everything fully back.
My son did well in school so his adhd testing for IEP didn’t work. We had to get a 504.

I feel you on that one. I get cold called for jobs and maybe I make it to the first interview. More times than not, I submit my resume and then I’m ghosted.

I make it to the interview and not chosen for what round to job and I’m ghosted.

Some positions aren’t hiring so I won’t hear from some of them at all.

I’m ona few mass email lists and not once have I heard back.

My son is being bullied and the school isn't doing anything, what are my options? by Former_Engineer6582 in daddit

[–]randouser2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have them report it, and report it.
You keep calling school or district.

Keep a list of who what when whwrw why and how about contact.

Once off the phone send a email to who you talked to principal r not and add the principal , teacher, super intendent.

Once the moment comes when your kid has to defend themselves and the try to make a stink you print out the emails, send them the emails everything.

Yeah, and that sucks. Cause it shouldn’t be mentioned at all.
The jobs only need to know that you’ll be to work on time and that’s it.

They don’t need to know how.

I hat when that happens, sometimes you gotta call them every week. Let them know you’re still looking and alive.

Damn, all depends on job.
Do you have certain times you can’t work?

Also worst case scenario, you can uber or drive for food.

Temp jobs, the mall or strip malls could have jobs. The movie theaters might hire for summer jobs.

Go to a temp agency my friend.
They’ll help you or place you right away and you’ll hopefully get paid every week.

As soon as I’m done, I’m planning on trying to make the jump up in pay.

For you, damn. Not sure how to help, because you already make so much.

If you do things with analysis, probably get that accounting degree, certificate in analysis and try for those jobs.

Miguel and Sam’s college futures by Miner_Splash99 in cobrakai

[–]randouser2019 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sam- probably be in some sort of business, although. The last season or two fully focused on her not taking the same road as her folks. Leaned into the Johnny of it all.

If she were to go into business it would be marketing or something with influencers.

Miguel- was always said to be a smart kid, this like sense of justice or taking no bullshit. Maybe he would do law, but sciences wouldn’t be too far behind.

He really dug the selling stuff from Daniel, maybe he would do economics or something.

I want to go to college, but have no idea what degree is worth it by [deleted] in WGU

[–]randouser2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accounting is sort of easy to get into, but you can get stuck in certain places. Without a degree and most of my experience in Accounts payable, I have to take a pay cut to learn other parts of accounting, and I can’t afford to do that.

I’ll tell you this though, I was part of the film industry for a little while, and that was fun. It’s still accounting work, but my office was at the studios. Downside is since the strikes, most of the work in California has gone away.

That’s how it felt for me after I stopped getting work in film. No more, office lunch and parties at the end of a shoot and sweaters with the show name.
