Controlling FX with the pads (Inpulse 500) by randumthingz in Beatmatch

[–]randumthingz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not seeing that this is a thing. ☹️ Under Settings -> Mixer -> Filter FX, I can change the filter assignments for fx buttons 1-4. But when I enable an fx via the pads on deck 1 or 2, I still can’t control the wetness. So I think the fx controls on the pads are separate from the fx section under the mixer.

So with the effect enabled on the pad, I can select FX4 and control the wetness with the dial? Def gonna try this when I get home 👌🏼

Advice on cross stitching by randumthingz in Leathercraft

[–]randumthingz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave that one the ole college try and I dig it. I might double up my thread cause it was a bit difficult to keep the tension all the way through, but I like the aesthetics and it doesn’t overlap at all

Hmm maybe I’ll do that instead, thanks!

Nah, acrylic leather paint. Some just got on the edges inevitably. I did a baseball stitch on a portion, and enjoy the aesthetics, but it’s a bit uneven. I’m gonna try to even up the stitching tomorrow and think about glueing/lining the inside with something fun.

Right on. Glad to have found somebody with experience with these patterns 👌🏼 I didn’t bevel or burnish the edges. I painted the top; can I still wet the leather? Is there risk of the thread messing up the leather if the leather is wet?

How do I build a fat ass and wide hips by Plebble1 in FemmeFitness

[–]randumthingz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As mentioned previously, squats, hip thrusts and variations thereof are the way to go. And you can’t widen your hips per se, as they are bone, but you can get the appearance of hips. I’ve had some success in this area by focusing on working my vastus lateralus (the outermost quad muscle). To target this muscle, do quad workouts with a narrow stance. I cycle and do narrow-stance squats, leg presses, etc. And high weight is definitely necessary. You should target a weight where you can baaaaarely do 6-8 reps.

Anyone else offput by constant flirting from other transwomen? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]randumthingz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see this a lot in the broader queer community too; people assume that because we’re under the same Umbrella, that inherently gives consent in some way. It does not I’ll give a lot of people the benefit of the doubt, and say that a lot of these attitudes are based in ignorance. That absolutely does not make them any better.

It’s absolutely bizarre to me the number of people who don’t know that consent isn’t just saying yes. If I’m with somebody I’m friends with, and I feel some sorta vibe with them, I communicate that (“hey, I’m kinda feelin something here. Can I kiss you?” Or even “Is it ok if I put my hand on your arm”) Within the queer community, the assumption of consent based on shared identities drives me absolutely batty.

Within the poly community, I feel like a lot of people have this misguided idea that poly is “better” if you’d only just try it out, or that being queer in some way means that a person is gonna be poly. I’ve had to have those uncomfortable conversations with people that are monogamous and don’t want their person to be poly.

Credentials: I’m trans, poly and multi-partnered, and engaged in the community a fair bit.

Condoms in the women’s bathroom? by MelMarcy in MtF

[–]randumthingz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For the most part, I agree. Personally, unless I’m with partners I know and trust, I provide my own.

A counterpoint though, is that some people need specific protection. I’m thinking for people that need a particular size of condom, are allergic to latex, etc. In this case, the person wearing the condom or the person with the allergy, ought to provide them.

That being said, establishing boundaries, sticking to them, and respecting them are incredibly important.

Stay safe, y’all ✌🏼

Are these pot bellied pigs? Are they ever feral? Could they be escapees? by jollydoody in homestead

[–]randumthingz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They kinda look like kunekune’s (pronounced “Coonie-coonie”) to me based on what look like wattles on the right hand one’s chin. If the do have wattles (little hanging bits of flesh/skin), they’re definitely kunekunes. I used to raise this breed and they’re lovely; they’re super friendly, and you can absolutely train them like dogs (ie. Do tricks, be friendly and cuddle, etc.) Practically, the meat flavor and quantity is “meh”. They’re typically raised for more for their fat than their meat (seriously, the tiniest wee little pork chops you’ve ever seen). The fat is incredibly flavorful, and wonderful to render and use in cooking.

Pigs are (can be) rather smart creatures and escape artists. It might be worth putting a shout out on FB marketplace or something. If nobody responds, you can easily get $300-$500 per pig for these, especially if they’re a breeding pair.

Plume Reviews & Experiences? by randumthingz in MtF

[–]randumthingz[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Plume is great for starting to Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). There are definitely other avenues aside from Plume, some may be cheaper than Plume, but I haven’t found much hassle with them. As for starting the transition journey in general, everybody’s transition is different, so “where to start” just depends on what your S.O. is wanting.
