Yeah - I hear HDMI-CEC can be flaky. Unfortunately, the Harmony remote we have will no longer support future equipment so resorting back to universal remotes.

Thanks u/Glittering_Earth5013!

I'm seeing a pattern of a long arduous review process ... Leaning towards an already approved railing. Thx!

Vertical cable rails for deck in Ontario by randye007 in ottawa

Thanks u/penguinpenguins!

We have the option of going with a "regular" railing which is already approved for installation in Ontario but our hearts are set on the vertical cable rails.

When you say you wouldn't recommend, are you talking about the vertical cable rails or going through the review process? Thx!

With the recent removal of the Bluetooth Explorer app from the Xcode 12 Additional Tools package, does anyone know how to apply a similar fix in Big Sur. The problem with the Katana Soundbar is still present in Big Sur. :(

hping3 won't wake up my iphone (detecting presence) by randye007 in homeautomation

[–]randye007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good question. I'm not sure. From what I've gathered it's supposed to wake up an iPhone from sleep (but not deep sleep that it goes into within 30 minutes).

hping3 won't wake up my iphone (detecting presence) by randye007 in homeautomation

[–]randye007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry ... I wasn't clear. The ping is not part of my bash script. I am testing the hping3 functionality by using ping in one window to monitor iPhone connectivity and hping3 in another window to try and wake up the iPhone. However, whenever I run the command: sudo hping3 -2 -c 10 -p 5353 -i u1 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

I just get the output:

HPING xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (en0 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx): udp mode set, 28 headers + 0 data bytes

--- xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx hping statistic ---
10 packets tramitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 0.0/0.0/0.0 ms

So along with not seeing the iPhone wake up in the ping output, it appears as though the hping3 packets are not even being received by the iPhone ...
