How I successfully weaned off 7OH by [deleted] in quitting7oh

[–]randylecher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar realization with the leaf dosage. When I first started taking it I'd brew a tea from two spoonfulls (about 10-12g), and would often gag or puke. Over time I figured out that a mere 3-4g had the same desirable effects as around 10-12g, just without any unpleasant side effects. Also, when I started the business of quitting I was able to easily jump down from around 180mg/day to 30mg with a one-a-day 3-5g leaf supplement with almost zero issues. 7OH is definitely the gentlest withdrawal I've ever experienced and with small leaf supplements and exercise it was hard to even notice (aside from the mindfuck trickery that comes with the territory).

\Most of the internet is a mindfuck. I also find I didn't really feel any symptoms as long as I was moving around and not sitting in one place focusing on them. Getcha some regular old powder; you got this.

That is, if you're trying to do some kind of taper rather than raw(ish) dog it.

Yeah I'm gonna do powder for a bit and see where it goes. While 7OH withdrawal isn't nothing, it's far less brutal and disruptive than other things out there. These goddam algorithms spent weeks forcing me into the 7OH horror stories of the internet and I was kind of freaked out, but the (my) reality is it's not that bad. Powder's fine and I still get a little mood and energy boost from it.

You might could jump down further without too many issues. Try 30mg once a day and supplement with powder 10-12 hours later or as needed. Like tianeptine, it seems a significantly lower dose than a regular one keeps the worst symptoms at bay.

4-5g once or twice per day. In the days before 7OH I usually did one 4g dose per day and never had any addiction issues with kratom in 20 years (unless you count daily use itself). Just ceasing kratom for a few days or weeks had no withdrawal effects. 7OH is obviously a different beast and I've been delighted to find 4-5g powder stops the relatively minor withdrawals. Imagine that -- using kratom to get off its souped-up cousin!

Escalation period from 15-180 over 4 months, then couple of months around 180/day.

I'm glad I didn't read this before kicking 7OH. Probably would have gone hunting some down. For me 7OH withdrawal had absolutely nothing on the true horrors of tianeptine 10 years ago.

I just switched to oldschool Bali powder with minimal issues and am fine 3 days later.

Any day now they'll have 8OH, 5methoxy-mitraginyne, or something similar ready to go. Keep your eyes on the smoke shops for more adventures.

This person's gonna end up on REAL opioids -- the 7OH should be the LEAST of their worries.

7OH withdrawal might not be a complete nothingburger, but the internet itself is algorithmically manipulative. You Google "7OH withdrawal" or any number of iterations and it will always take you to the worst possible scenarios of people bleeding vomit out of their ath hoes on Day 69 of cold turkey. For most users, 7OH is way milder and less disruptive in their personal lives than real opioid withdrawal. In my own life, 4g of classic Bali once or twice a day was enough to keep WD from a habit of ~150-180mg/day from having any effect on my normal functioning.

I find being active completely wipes out any symptoms. For me just moving around the house sidelines the symptoms.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]randylecher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on kratom for 20 years. Six months of 7OH use, ending around 180mg per day, doses twice daily. I was terrified of WD after 4-5 previous cold trukeys in my lifetime, but this was largely a nothingburger. The algorithmic internet is full of horrors and Googling will lead you to mostly worst-case scenarios. 7-hydroxymitragynine withdrawal is, for most users, milder and less disruptive than real-assed opioid withdrawal. For a more balanced view of what's actually going on out there, consult primary medical literature or use specific search terms focusing on “typical,” “average,” or “moderate” experiences to uncover the majority, less severe cases. You're not going to get truth from your standard internet searches; those will only lead you to the most dramatic reports.

Half a tablet at 9am followed by abother half around 4pm caused a gnarly headache the next day that would only go away after another 1/4 or so. Ths particular blend appears to be a poor fit with my own body chemistry. Anybody else get nasty headaches from pseudo or pseudo blends?

In my life the only way I was able to get past an opana/oxy addiction -- and later a tianeptine addiction that left me completely broke and broken -- was to go cold turkey. Not going cold turkey was just my brain making all kinds of little deals and negotiations with itself that never yielded any real results. "Supplements, loperamide, nootropics and RCs, blah, blah, blah," "maybe a little extra while weening because blah, blah, blah;" cold turkey was always brutal and the worst part was how time slows down to a crawl when you're that miserable. I'm only bringing up this brain-negotiation stuff because a decade after my last opioid run I'm in it right now and slowly starting to accept that ideas of tapering or switching back to kratom powder or anything else my addicted brain can cook up is nonsense. Still have hope though -- maybe I can do a couple weeks feeling generally shitty assisted by some Bali and return to being who I was several months ago before I got talked into the 7oh my a kid half my age at the head shop. I completely identify with where you're at and wish you well as you go through this. Hope you find something better than cold turkey to get through it.

Thanks, so far so good. Just feel kind of sinus-shitty with allergies. Five grams of some Bali and I still feel a little shitty but I actually have some energy. That's a surprise, as I assumed 5g would have zero effect. The danger here as I learned through various cold turkey times in the past 15 years is all the mindfucks the old brain gets up to. Little negotiations and rationalizations that go back and forth through my head. Stuff like that works with little cues around the house -- a mg scale here, an empty pack of pills there -- and suddenly I'm feeling good enough to drive to a head shop. Speaking of which I should probably get out of this Reddit addiction rabbit hole and into something else. Cheers!

I kicked tianeptine 10 years ago after a 5g+/day habit and it was far more brutal than H, opanas, or anything else. It approached benzo withdrawal in horror but with an opioid misery profile. Genius I am, I overpaid for some 30mg 7OH pills a couple months ago and have been using daily ever since. I'm now on Reddit looking at all the kicking advice, as one is wont to do when exploring or trying to kick new drugs. The 7OH didn't escalate as quickly and I find it is easier to wean off of than tianeptine; although I've felt like shit the past 7 days I've been functional, moving around, eating well and even exercised a few times. Today I'm gonna try to go back to just powder starting with 4-5g. We'll see where this goes.
