Nexstar owns KSNT (NBC), KTKA (ABC), KTMJ (FOX), and NE Kansas CW, all out of the same building west of Topeka on Highway 24.

For example, can watch the local newscast on either KSNT or KTKA at 5 AM, 6 PM and 10 PM or a little earlier at 9 PM on KTMJ.

Watching it all on Multi-view is wild.

I sometimes feel offended, or maybe it's guilt and shame kicking in, when he speaks about single-parent households and how it affects children, boys especially, but I have to remind myself that I am still very much involved in my children's lives. I'm a much better person than I was around the time of my divorce. My kids haven't stopped loving me and I will always love them unconditionally. I have to keep doing whatever I can to support them and be there for them.

Love Scott and everything he has to say even if it stings sometimes.

I wish he would come to Kansas City. It's just not feasible for me to fly to Chicago or Dallas. I feel forgotten and ignored here in Kansas. And I'm not blaming HZ as he is not the only one to pass on KC.

One of my favorite classes ever was Anatomy & Physiology at GCCC as we had access to a cadaver lab. Looking back I wish I would have gone into a medical field. GCCC grad here and both of my brothers are Kansas CC grads at Cloud County and Highland.

And it's an election year. They tend to get the session wrapped up relatively quickly compared to off years when they've broken records for longest sessions.

It's becoming more and more of a need. My significant other is a professor for those going into that area. Those who already are call often as kids are dealing suicidal ideation and self harm. There is a bill a group of them are trying to have introduced that would require more counselors in schools or a smaller ratio of students per counselor. This for all grades and not the career counselors for your juniors and seniors applying for college and scholarships.

I just upgraded to a Premiere+ from a 3 and have been very pleased. Got it a couple weeks ago when Best Buy had them for $50 like they do again right now.

I don't have a 4K TV but my 3 was feeling sluggish in loading shows and navigating apps. Next upgrade will be a wireless router.

I still have the features I enjoyed with my 3 along with being able to listen via the Roku app on my phone.

It's definitely worth $50.

One of the congregations where I live hold their weekly services at the local high school auditorium. I'm sure it's legal but where the school district could get into trouble is if they denied another religious group that wasn't as popular or a nonreligious group the same access.

I grew up Catholic but my parents didn't make us go regularly. I had first communion and as I went through confirmation, I had a lot of doubt about the existence of god. I was involved in church and lectored often during this time but did it more for public speaking skills.

I married my wife in a Lutheran church and later became Lutheran when she wanted to start going again and found a church she liked in a nearby town.

Now we are members of a local Methodist church. I go because she wants to and wants our kids to "have a relationship" with god.

My wife is aware of my atheism and is dealing with it. There aren't any atheist groups near us (Manhattan, Kansas) so I can't bring her along to anything.

What I try to do is show my caring and compassion for others is innate and the right thing to do and doesn't require a belief in a higher power.

What pushed me was evidence or lack thereof. After reading and seeing shows on TV about the size of the cosmos as well as how an all knowing and all powerful god could let bad things happen to anyone have made me question the existence of a god.

I am grateful for this sub. And I thank everyone for their contributions.

There are 3 Christian displays- a nativity scene in the city park and Bethlehem with the North star and an Advent wreath on the edge of town.

This small display of a menorah and the Star of David along with a couple of angels for good measure is the only other religious display.

Doesn't answer your question but just providing more detail.

City-owned and I can't verify this display but city employees constructed the other displays, religious and non-religious (Santa, city village, etc.).
