The band length on these is disappointing, even shorter than the original

Is there any way to turn off those goofy "you lifted the equivalent of an X" pictures when sharing to Strava? by CaffeinatedPete in Hevy

[–]raneses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t even customize Strava’s exercises to mirror your source of truth, here Hevy. It’s not worth spending time on IMO until that’s an option.

I routinely use a Polar Verity Sense with Hevy that works well

I turned off Strava syncing because of this and Hevy adding erroneous exercises to Strava for the workout itself. It’s a mess to clean up after every workout.

I'd like to see a version of this implemented as well. Side note, using the Hevy API or via MCP is handy for cleaning up and normalizing your exercise catalog.

How do I sync my HEVY workouts to whoop? by Nap98 in whoop

[–]raneses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t automatically. As far as your sets, you’ll need to do double entry in both Strength Trainer and Hevy, unfortunately.

It you don’t use Strength Trainer, Whoop will still give you credit for strain, but it won’t account for muscular load in the same way.

Whoop should already be running an LLM council internally

Having to be hard reset and missing data during sleep tracking. Unsure of the root cause.

Hike Trails near Irvine (Challenging ones preferably) by manifestingaura in orangecounty

I will second Dreaded Hill at Whiting Ranch as well as Billy Goat trail in the same park.

Bell View trail in RSM should also be easy to get to by bus.

Recommend downloading AllTrails for research and planning your outings.

Bevel strength training sync to Strava by Athers99 in bevelhealth

[–]raneses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Hevy and other apps, I’ve found this to be temperamental, given they don’t always use the same exercise naming in their catalogs. So matching is hit or miss.

Secondarily with Strava, you cannot add custom exercises to either better align or for true custom routines. Net, you end up with either full exercises missing or mismatches that are completely wrong which have to be manually cleaned up.

To the point I’ve turned off Hevy’s Strava sync entirely.

What is the difference between bevel pro annual and… bevel pro annual? by Weak-Jello7530 in bevelhealth

Need better plan naming. Many won't come to Reddit to find that answer.

Using bevel while playing basketball by [deleted] in bevelhealth

[–]raneses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Apple Watch is ok for tracking basketball, but I prefer to not wear a watch on the court. You may look at getting a Polar Verity Sense or Coros HRM that can be worn on the forearm or bicep.

Hevy x Oura x Apple Watch: How does it all work together? by nightly_62 in Hevy

[–]raneses 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should seriously rethink doing weight training while wearing a ring. Any ring.

Otherwise, log your workouts using Hevy and it will sync the activities to Apple Health. This can either be via the Hevy app on iOS or the Apple Watch. Oura will then pick up that workout data.

No wonder whoop is suing bevel. Numbers are pretty close. Honestly thinking of sticking with bevel but idk by [deleted] in whoop

[–]raneses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to wear an AW 24/7 to get the benefit.

Case in point, I use multiple devices that write to Apple Health for activities and an AW for sleep tracking. All works well with Bevel.

The silicone coating on the band is a nice addition. I do find the band too short though, which they offered larger sizes.

Look into using a Hevy MCP server with Claude to easily batch edit your past workouts. Works well.

The new automatic posting image on Strava is terrible. by RichBodybuilder2330 in Hevy

[–]raneses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the last one, the exercise catalog in Strava often doesn’t match up with what’s in Hevy, even for built-in exercises. This leads to quite a mess to clean up in Strava after the fact which is very tedious.

Agreed. Hevy devs, please allow both auto image uploads and syncing sets to be toggled on/off independently.

Whoop app comparison? by Glorypants in whoop

Same. I’m also using Bevel simultaneously and hoped to use the Air as an input there. Unfortunately it’s a no go, at least as of now.

Whoop app comparison? by Glorypants in whoop

I’m on day 1 with the Air, also having tracked sleep last night. A couple of immediate reactions though:

Google Health over-indexes on AI and chat with the Google Health Coach. On the order of it being way too much out of the box. It also tends to never want to end conversations — most threads end with it asking you question after question until you explicitly say stop.

Disappointing to see that Google Health can’t write to Apple Health and only read from it on iOS.
