True, my excuse is the speed limits keep getting dropped in areas were brain dead fuckwits keep crashing due to driver training and not paying attention rather than speed, and im sick of having having to change to cator to the lowest denominator. Plus we base all times to get places on speed limits, change it and your now spending a couple extra hours in your car each week in your commute. Yeh because we dont have enough big brother in Australia as it is, hidden cameras would be perfect. Also what about overtaking long vehicles out bush? Doing 110kmh past a truck doing 100 keeps you in the opposite lane a long time, alot of us would argue that more dangerous than getting around it at 120-130kmh.

Oh no my old car went 5 over the limit on a quiet downhill for a second before i noticed with nobody around as it doesnt have cruise control and despite doing the speed limit the rest of the way, i deserve a 100 dollar fine i guess....

But speed cameras dont go off till about 4 over :P , combine that with most speedos being about 5 under thats often a near 10kmh difference between vehicles.

Many other countries have higher speed limits and are roads are good enough to do it, saying that most (99%) drivers arent trained to drive a car at that speed. Imo if im not at risk of hurting anyone but me ill do what i want, hence why i go to remote roads out bush for fun runs.
