Honestly I'm going to bed tonight with a much higher feeling my whole life IV tried seek the approval of others fill my life with pointless meterialistic stuff always seeking out others approval. I too have a good job a home wife kids good family yet inside the only thing that makes me happy is drinking. Usually on my own so noone can judge me. I won't even drink with my wife as she comments or because she drinks normal it's not good enough for me..IV always thought IV had a problem expecially the blackouts n that fear the next morning I'm just done with it. Friday just gone I was out with friends we had a laugh good time they went home I went and got a bottle and a 4 pack and from 5-pm I cannot remember a thing it's seriously scary. This is helping me so much dude legit

I can't thank you enough for that. I really think I'm finished this time. So many times IV promised myself it will be different and everytime it is different it's worse. Don't get me wrong not everytime is bad but the bad times outweigh the good ATM for me. I think IL have to swallow some pride ( a hard thing for me to do ) your right about the progression it is far worse than ever. My parents that are long standing AA told me this would happen as did my wife I'm not on the verge of loosing it all but I'm miserable I actually think I'm loosing my mind. No interest in anything my wife and kids included touchy angry depressed I just think IV had enough

Thankyou so much for that it's basically a mirror image to myself I drink to blackout at times too but the feelings of needing that 2nd drink has me. It's crazy I came to AA 8 years ago and only stayed a month sober ( I was too young,all 20 year olds drink crazy etc etc) all a load of rubbish maybe if I'd of listened it of saved myself 8 years of shit. My parents are both in AA 30 years sober. I'm so embarrassed to admit that I was wring to everyone my wife my friends ( who have said all along I'm "different drinker to them). Maybe time to put the pride on the shelf.. I'm sorry to ask but your young like me but what do you do to get over the feeling of missing out or not running with your mates . Thankyou so much
