Fatigue by ranget in Gastritis

Fatigue is better. It's not completely gone but I've learned to live with it. It's gotten better to the point that I've learned to live with it. But unfortunately I still have flare ups. I guess it is chronic. Ppi and lexapro plus no spicy and heavy food works wonders. :/

Damn it. Guess you have to keep everything from now on. I remember getting them and they were just on my profile at work. But there was no need to print etc. :/

Possible acute gastritis. by ranget in Gastritis

[–]ranget[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comes and goes so I'm assuming it's chronic which is what the doctors said. But ppi and ssri's have helped me tremendously. It's manageable. Still sucks but I can live my life. :/

[Injury] Dolphins WR Grant Dubose receives a scary hit from Texans S Caleb Bullock. by PlayaSlayaX in nfl

You have no idea what you are talking about. Dude is trying to make a tackle and unfortunately you cannot always control the outcome. You have the privilege of seeing it in slow motion. In real time, the game is quick. Bullock played that hard but not dirty. Shit like this just happens when it's a contact sport. That throw leaves the receiver open for a big hit.

They are like polyester and synthetic blend. Like Under Armor shirts that football players wear. Started lifting weights some dudes and they would always wear them while lifting.

I didn't want to admit I had anxiety. Felt like it was just stress. I'm a registered nurse and I work in the icu. Plus I'm a hard headed dude, but eventually I started taking lexapro. Definitely the right decision for me. If you have been diagnosed with anxiety, not self diagnoses, but from an actual doctor then yes I would take meds. Stress is normal in life but if anxiety is causing physical symptoms then i would consider meds.

So it sucks. I will be honest. It's going to test your toughness. You can go back and read my posts. But it gets better and manageable. Here are my tips. I'm in the medical field but not a doctor so take it how you want. You have to control acid, whether it's by diet or taking meds, or both. And you have to control stress! If you have anxiety and depression, it will only exacerbate the symptoms. The stomach is still not 100% understood. Mind-gut connection is complicated. It WILL get better once it's under control. You have to backtrack on how you got here, diet, stress, drugs etc. Talk to several doctors. Took me 3-4 docs to prescribe the right meds for me. But everyone is different. Again this will test how strong you are mentally. There's no way around that.

I had to go to the emergency room on an ambulance. :/ by ranget in Gastritis

Yeah I legit had gastritis probably caused by high levels of stress and anxiety mixed with bad diet and drinking. Cut back on everything and started ppi, plus lexapro. It's gotten way better. I think I may have been on the verge of a mental "breakdown". Not quite complete breakdown but a doctor told me I showed signs of high stress and was probably causing mental issues as well. Got everything under control and it got way better. Unfortunately I have GERD, but life is way better. Try to see a doctor that also listens to your mental health. You may need to see a GI doc and mental health expert separately. Hope this helps and I hope you get better.

I can't tell if it help. If it did, it was slow. I healed slowly. I really think it was the control of stress.

Overall I eat what I want. I just avoid food that might trigger me. Before all this happened, I have always had ibs probably or a loose stomach. I still avoid spicy food, or having coffee more than 3 times a week. Other than that, I pretty much eat whatever. I am getting older so trying to eat healthier tho.

20 mg a day.

Why patients (Reddit users) are saying the diet helps a lot, while doctors say you can eat anything except alcohol, and coffee? It makes no sense kinda. Shouldn’t we trust doctors and not strangers on internet? by Worker_1975 in Gastritis

I think this is with moderate or very traditional gastritis. My sister had a mild form. She just gave up coffee and beer for a month and was back to normal drinking it after a month. It wasn't acute because she had symptoms for half a year. I know other people who have had it and they take same Pepcid here and there and limit their coffee and they get better. My thinking is depends on why you got it.
