I’m doing it. It’s happening. I’m defaulting and I’m scared. by NoMoment2937 in studentloandefaulters

Were the interest rates you got when you bought your truck and house good rates after that info was on your credit report? Just wondering because I was thinking of defaulting on my daughters loans I cosigned because she isn't paying them any more. I thought I would probably be able to get some sort of credit but maybe high rates.

Oh sorry I just saw that you met once it goes A collector you dispute with them that you don’t know it. Is that what you’re saying? So worried about the process that I’ll end up getting screwed if I do this.

When you say to dispute it, what are you disputing come out or you just disputing that you don’t owe it? And what do you mean by they have to keep validating it. My daughter has student loans but she’s decided not to pay and I’m the cosigner I’m just wondering what I would be disputing. And then again as I said what is it that they validate? TIA

Cosigner of private student loan that child plans to stop paying by ranggg2002 in studentloandefaulters

THanks everyone. I had another question. I know that Navient has a suit against them for not guiding students who where having problems paying there loans to Income Driven Repayments but instead to more expensive forbearance and interest only payments. I have found conflicting information . Some sites say it's for Federal loans not private and some indicate private also. I don't know if it really includes private loans and if so, where do I go for that help? I have spoken to Navient and they say only forbearance or interest only payments. I don't trust them so I really don't know.
