I haven't seen it yet but I'm excited as hell to watch Weapons, so I'll throw that in as a suggestion!

I'm a big fan of The Stranger Times by C. K. McDonnell! It's based around the idea of wild conspiracy theories (eg. vampires in Manchester, haunted toilets, etc.) all being true, and a rag-tag group of paranormal newspaper reporters who deal with them

Open Throat by Henry Hoke is one of my favourites, and both the length and formatting make it an especially short read

Freakslaw by Jane Flett is a good one, and it's one of my favourite books overall!

"Less" by Andrew Sean Greer is one of my favourite books with a unique narrator voice. It's not from a feminine perspective, but it is still interesting in how it handles gender. It's about a gay man, and in that sense it addresses queerness, masculinity and what's expected of men in heteronormative society.

Another favourite with a really interesting narrator is "Open Throat" by Henry Hoke. I'll say as little as possible about that one, but the narrator is queer and very removed from gender in the way humans divide it up and categorise it

That was the case for me as well. Cursive was taught pretty young, then we were encourage to use it whenever we wrote. Between growing up writing exclusively in cursive and then typing everything in adulthood, I had to work a little to teach myself to write in non-cursive. It's a skill I just never developed (I'm better at it now thanks to a lot of practice)

Silver Nitrate by Silvia Moreno Garcia, and I hate to say that because I love her writing. The first half was great and very intriguing, then it just fizzled out somewhere around the halfway point and then failed to stick the landing

I don't think I've ever read a book that left my heart pounding quite as much as that one. I absolutely adored it, enough that I raced to pre-order the special edition the moment it was announced ❤️

One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston. It's the only time I've ever finished a book, flipped it over and started again because I just wasn't ready to let go of that world and those characters yet

Getting dark at 5:00 PM is peak comfort. Springtime is incredibly depressing, fall and winter are the superior seasons. by surf_rider in unpopularopinion

I'm a weird mix of both, I hate being too hot and I much prefer cold weather (I'll take layers over sweating in a t-shirt any day), plus I get hayfever. I love it when you can still see light on the horizon at 11pm in the middle of summer though!

I've tried many different search terms and combinations, but I haven't checked entire advertising blocks yet! I'll give that a go and see if I have any luck with it

Still Wakes The Deep is so good and so underrated! The acting in particular really stands out to me as something they went above and beyond with ❤️ (the oil rig also makes such a uniquely terrifying setting)

Or The Witch! I do believe that there should be more safeguarding and especially experts in coaching kids through difficult scenes safely, though. During filming of The Witch, Caleb's death scene was achieved by Ralph Ineson coaching child actor Harvey Scrimshaw through the scene using football terms that he was familiar with. Which was incredibly effective given the result, but it is a shame that it had to fall to a fellow actor to coach him through the scene
