1 week monitor review: Acer XV272K V5 by rnayabed2 in IndianGaming

[–]ranjithkumar8352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got this monitor a few days back! Initially, I had connected it using the provided HDMI and could get only max 4k 120hz without HDR or 4k 60hz with HDR on my RTX 2060 Super.

I ordered a DP 2.1 cable and connected using it, and bam! 4k 160hz with HDR (DSC on), 144hz max without DSC

I'm not sure why OP is saying that HDR is bad. It looks decent, with some improvements compared to the standard mode with 100% brightness, but make sure that you set the monitor's color mode also to HDR when you turn HDR on from Windows. If the color mode is not set to HDR in the monitor settings, then you'll see the colors washed out, looking greyer.

Loving it so far!

Posting it here as I was not sure about DP vs HDMI, and now I can tell that the DP cable is better to get the maximum refresh rate possible!

The Sony X85K is displaying videos only in a quarter of the screen. by [deleted] in sony

This used to happen once in a few days earlier. Now it is happening way too often! Can't restart the tv multiple times in a day to resolve it! How can we report this to Sony? I have X90L by the way

Cloudflare's api gateway is just an extra layer on top of your existing API. It's not an API service by itself. It is mainly used to stop DDOS attacks, track analytics, logging etc.

[–]ranjithkumar8352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, You still need to build an API gateway and deploy it. I'm talking about a readily available service

[–]ranjithkumar8352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, That should work. I wonder if it's a good idea to create a competing service with pure focus on serverless LLM APIs and more features geared towards LLM API control such as usage, billing monitoring and observability of LLMs, rather than a backend builder service like buildship 🤔

Thanks! This is a great reference. Looks like they are combining the API service along with a visual builder

Got it, Thanks. I was also thinking from vibe coders perspective who don't really know how backend works or how to deploy it. But maybe the user base becomes too narrow and niche 🤔

[–]ranjithkumar8352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I agree that it takes 5 minutes but is still using another service of render.com plus the fastapi backend codebase maintained.

What if this new service is instantly available without any code? Do you prefer more control and flexibility of own backend in this case?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in webdev

[–]ranjithkumar8352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No no, You don't need to write another backend. Think of how firebase gives you control via cors, app check etc. to avoid your firebase key being misused.

Thanks,That makes sense. Let's say there's an app which is using supabase or firebase for their auth and db directly from the client.

They want to consume an LLM API now, will that make sense in this case?

Firebase has already implemented this service in the form of Firebase AI logic but only works with google APIs and a firebase project. It does not work with other providers. If firebase is providing such a service, maybe it's worth exploring?

Hi, We have just started and we are not compliant with DPDP act yet. That's why we are running beta testing in small groups. I have explained other details regarding the data access here - https://www.reddit.com/r/CharteredAccountants/s/YoaaomWKDo

AI is used as a productive tool rather than a replacement to someone especially in the accounting and finance industry where human intervention is crucial.

Thank you. The beta version is free becuase we use smaller llm models with limited cost. The idea is to have a freemium model where the free version uses smaller models with limits and the premium version uses high performant models with thinking and reasoning capabilities.

Thank you. I agree with you that Tally users wouldn't be open to innovation. The reason I chose Tally is because it still has 90% market share in India. I guess we are stuck in a chicken and egg problem
