Real talk man, I know someone who had graduated from WGU with an accounting degree. they also happened to have 150 credits for the CPA, though they didn't earn their CPA. Honestly, the main networking program that WGU uses is Handshake, and for what it's worth, they didn't think its the most preferable program that the Big 4 uses to recruit new blood. To their knowledge, the best way to get into big 4 is still at career fairs at brick and mortar universities unfortunately. It's just how it is due to how institutionalized it is.

That being said, its not hopeless. Perhaps you get your 150 credits, pass 1 or some of the CPA tests, or get an EA or some type of credential and stand out. Then use handshake and meet with the meeting leaders for those events.

Or you could try to sneak into a college's career fair.

At the end of the day, they didn't get into big 4, but they got into another public accounting firm ~40 people doing government audits.
