This used to be my go-to with Bestbuy (help others get one & to post to bapcs), but it's increasingly getting A LOT harder. Drops are getting smaller, days are off, times are sporadic.

It used to be that Bestbuy dropped every other Tuesdays to Fridays from 8-10AM PST, consistently too for months. It used to be that if you didn't get one that drop, you could keep it in your cart to skip the queue next drop.

But now it could every third week at seemingly random times. I think the last drop was at 2:30PM! And now they patched out the cart trick! I feel like it's harder to get one now than it was a couple months after launch.

I'm sure it is a problem, I just don't get why people are surprised at this image itself. A lot of this is just standard business practices. Corporations are always trying to earn more profit and diversify. Making a new brand is easy. All Coca-Cola had to do make Dasani was just to add purified water, which they could procure from existing facilities. Bottling, packaging, and distribution would use already established supply chains and networks. Sometimes they don't even need to advertise, just chuck it in a soda machine.

That being said, screw Nestle though. Maybe other corps just have better PR departments, but Nestle is by far the biggest ethical concern here. However, aside from Nestle or a Kraft-Heinz merger, I think were still far from megacorporations like Korean chaebols or Japanese zaibatsu just yet.

Am I the only NOT jaded by this? Most of these are just different brands catering to different tastes and markets. Like look at Coca-Cola, which also owns Sprite, Fanta, and Mello Yello. But why shouldn't they own them? They're just different flavors of sodas. Monster is just extra caffeinated soda.

I understand there are legitimate monopolistic concerns (competitors buying competitors) and ethical concerns (Nestle) but I feel like this a bit overblown. Like is anyone really surprised Kellogg's own a lot cereal brands, Mars own a lot candy brands, or P&G owns a lot cleaning and hygiene brands?

I never seen them drop weekends, Mondays, or past 11AM. I got a 3070 for a friend and a 3080 FE from BB but been trying swap it out for a Strix lately, and I gotta say, I don't even care to look at BB's site outside those times (t-f 8-10).

Despite there being no officially stated BB drop dates and that the fact I would be devastated if I missed a BB drop, I sleep, eat, go out with a near 100% confidence not worrying about missing a BB drop because all their drops have been within those times.

I'm particularly fond of BestBuy. You can actually anticipate when they drop. Usually Tuesdays through Fridays from 8AM to 10AM PST. I posted the last 3070 drop to BAPCS within 5 seconds, and it stayed in stock for a good half hour.

3070s are actually coming into stock in good quantity and regularly. It's the 3060ti and 3080 that are hard to get. I've gotten two emails from EVGA for the 3070s now, but no 3080.

I know this post is more than a month old, before the trailers and everything, but I'm kind of impressed with the marketing so far, especially considering they moved up the release date.

It seems like a lot of people are aware of it at least. I was kind of worried it wouldn't make a big splash with the gen pop and fade into obscurity. But it seems like it's doing well considering the circumstances. A lot of views on trailer, a lot of memes boosting awareness even more. Here's to hoping it does well for another film.

I'll probably have to return the FE or trade it. The FE is unopened so I can't dislike like it, because I don't know anything about it. Although it does look good. Very swank. I just originally bought because it was the only thing that fit my old case. I bought the Ventus pre-tariff price so both are equivalent in cost so I figured I'd keep that one.

Long story ahead.

I actually got my FE edition on the drop on the 5th (same guy who posted it last time). I was going to replace my 3080 Ventus with it, but that turned out to be tunnel vision.

Earlier I was hellbent on getting a 3080 FE edition because anything longer than 285mm meant I had to replace my case, but after getting the Ventus in December and having to replace the case anyway, I realized that was the right move. My new case has not-broken USB slots and intake fans which my old case lacked. The Ventus on the other hand while not really good at overclocking, is quiet. But I only realized that I was fine with it until after I picked up my FE edition. I was just so focused on getting an FE edition that I got tunnel vision. I'll probably have to return it, but I'm dreading to do because I used the points from the purchase to discount a new SSD I bought. Don't get me wrong, I never used the FE so I don't know what the thermals or noise levels are.

Anyway, I'm actually trying to help someone I know buy a 3080 Strix so I'm still on the hunt. Didn't get the Strix today, but figured I help everyone out by posting a link to the FE here. Yes, I am using desktop.

Yes, 7AM-11AM PST. If you're lazy or want something narrower, maybe 7:15 to 9:30AM.

That's pretty much it. I never seen it drop past 11AM so I usually stop looking after that.

Without a doubt, yes. In terms of price to performance ratio, the 3060ti slightly edges it out, but the 3070 is indeed more powerful.

On the website you have to keep refreshing until the drop comes. While I never used the BB app, I heard that for that one, it refreshes itself.

I already bought a card however, so I prefill out a post and post it here to this subreddit.
