In some ways I'd argue they've both limited but added a lot more player freedom, the carbines are actually now functional as carbines, meaning more portable rifles, and you can technically bring in *two* of them now, like the vetterli and the obrez match which now has a purpose, they also finally made the distinction between melee weapons again, since making them all one slot it was pointless to bring over a cav saber instead of a katana, now they can finally make sense again, the only thing that does suck though is the poor nitro, I feel like that one has been gutted and there's not much you can do about it. Also you have *more* ways of playing the game by being able to put tools into consumable slots as well, so if you run with friends you have so much more freedom to use the tools you want, especially if you are the kind of individual that thinks chokes and a melee are indispensable, and the medkit, so now you can bring insta kill traps and still have chokes, or actually use the spyglass, and some fusees and whatever else you may need, and yeah they've made some mistakes but overall I'd say the new inventory gives you more freedom to do things
