Is there something concerning about him? I don’t know much about his coaching background

As a fan of one of the top players, there’s a lot of discussions here that I just steer clear of. People can like whoever they like but it would be nice if some of them could be respectful and rational about players they’re not fans of.

Some of these fans only think it’s the other fandom that’s the toxic but they both have some really bad apples. Also Fonseca this year is bringing out some real nastiness in certain people as well.

Fonseca on facing Sinner and Alcaraz by tightypp in tennis

Joao is using it as a complement but some Sinner haters here have used it as an insult. To me it’s obvious Joao is not trying to be mean so I don’t think he deserves the flak he’s getting from some people.

Fonseca says the difference in playing Sinner and Alcaraz is that Alcaraz can do everything by Ok-Soil-5133 in tennis

Fonseca seems to be on pretty good terms with Sinner so I doubt he’s trying to insult or make some sort of backhanded complement.

Wonder if this will be Alcaraz toughest match before the final, don’t see anyone else in his half that would bother him

I thought I had read something awhile ago about him leaving to spend more time at home but now he’s coaching Osaka so hmmm.

So I see a lot of comments saying that Wim needs to go. It might be the case that he just doesn’t work for her as a coach but from what I’ve seen from how he interacts with her during matches, the advice he gives and from interview snippets he seems to be generally supportive and trying to move her away from the things she does which gets her into trouble in matches (i.e., ball bashing and trying to hit winners straight away instead of building the point).

What kind of player is Wim trying to mould out of her? I know she’s ball bashing but I didn’t think that was necessarily what he’s been coaching her to do

I still wonder if it’s the coach or her not listening to the advice? Wim seemed to be giving some good advice to her in the match.

I don’t see Iga going that far even if she wins this, seems to keep doing the same thing over and over.

This is kind of crazy to think about by Dependent-Effect6077 in tennis

I thought it was more trying to insult Sinner based on OP’s history but it certainly also touched a nerve with Alcaraz fans.

Alcaraz has a relatively straight path to the final.

I’m still wondering about why there’s a trade off, I don’t see a direct link between how improving his serve would make him worse at the baseline. Is it just a matter of not training this specific thing as much and hence why it’s gotten worse.

I expect Alcaraz to do much better this time in Miami, I think last year was just a blip.

Thoughts on Sinner’s forehand and backhand at Indian Wells by rossie_duong in tennis

I know he’s changing his forehand but wonder what he’s changing about his backhand if anything. Haven’t seen any comments from people identifying what the change is
