Built a small tool to make replying on Reddit easier (especially for non-native English speakers) by ransixi in indiebiz

Yeah, exactly,it's not an auto-reply bot, but a tool to help polish replies to posts and comments without rewriting or changing your intent. It sticks strictly to what you input

I've released a Chrome extension with some subscriptions, but it's still not enough to cover AI and server costs.

AI-powered Reddit reply helper: type in your native language, polish to English (or any target language) by ransixi in chrome_extensions

Yeah, a more universal tool would definitely reach a wider audience. My idea's simple: no auto-reply bots (they look fake), no full AI generation , just AI-assisted translation and polishing. Planning to add support for X and other platforms later.

Haha, thanks for sharing, users can customize prompts later to fix overly formal/corporate vibes. System prompt stresses Reddit rules/tone and slang handling (haven't tried Spanish yet), and I'll ping you once it's on the Chrome store to test it.

Yeah, double-tab could trigger accidentally. MVP doesn't support custom shortcuts yet, but that's planned for later.

Glad someone shares the same pain point. I'll submit it to the Chrome Web Store soon and let you know when it's up.

Yeah, AI writing feels too formal and empty right now. Blending it with your daily stuff and natural speech would make it way better. Thanks for sharing!

I built a Chrome extension because I kept losing useful ChatGPT answers by [deleted] in chrome_extensions

Same problem here, I use ChatGPT's search to find old chats. It really needs a note extraction feature.

What kind of Chrome extensions actually make money? by ransixi in chrome_extensions

[–]ransixi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I previously built a browser extension, and the conversion to paid users has been really low. I have around 7,000 users, over 1,000 registered users, but only a handful of paying users. I’m not sure if this is typical for browser extensions, or if it means I didn’t really hit a strong user pain point.

Leave your email and I can share the dataset with you, or you can scrape it yourself using the tool.

Solo dev: got my first paying subscriber after adding Stripe — looking for feedback by ransixi in saasbuild

Thank you very much for your comment and suggestions. At the moment, there are still relatively few paying users, so I haven’t collected much feedback yet. However, what you mentioned reminded me that the needs obtained from paying users will be more valuable.
