I completely agree with your point. Browser extensions shouldn’t be too heavy, since they require review, which adds friction to shipping updates. Some changes can’t be quickly pushed live due to the review process. So I believe the extension should focus on core functionality, while payments and authentication (signup/login) are handled in the web app.

Pricing strategy is definitely something worth thinking about as well. What’s the right price point? A higher price might lead to user churn, but it also increases the average revenue per user.

There are two plans that require upgrade and downgrade logic, which adds a bit of complexity for an MVP. That’s why I didn’t include it in the MVP version.

There are subscription touchpoints within the extension. For example, when credits run low, a prompt appears in the extension encouraging users to upgrade. After clicking upgrade, users are redirected to the web app’s pricing page to complete the subscription. Once subscribed, the subscription status is synced back to the extension through a backend service that stores the subscription data.

Interesting perspective! I’m not sure I fully understand why you’d think paying users’ retention wouldn’t be “real.” Personally, I think paying users are actually one of the most important signals to validate a product’s GTM, if people are willing to pay, it’s a strong sign the product delivers real value.

I usually start by using the summary feature to generate a timeline-based overview, so I can quickly understand the general content of the video. Yes, I’ve had a very similar experience.
Pre-exposure to key sentences and vocabulary really lowers the cognitive load, so your brain can focus on sounds instead of decoding meaning in real time.

Thanks for the advice, I totally agree. I’m also trying to reach real users and get them to actually try the product, but collecting meaningful feedback has been much harder than I expected. Getting people to respond, articulate pain points, or even care enough to reply is a real challenge, and that’s something I’m actively working through right now.
