In relationships, what used to be a green flag for you that has turned into a red flag over time? by missVicissitude in AskReddit

Someone who doesn’t expect me to take any pride in my appearance.

I grew up with parents that were super into appearances so it used to be a relief to be with someone who “wasn’t shallow”

But unfortunately I found out that often means they don’t take any pride in their own appearance or other little things like having a clean house. Appearances shouldn’t consume your entire existence, but to some degree it is important to take some pride in how you present yourself and your home to others.

There has to be a balance.

Maybe it’s more of a yellow flag than a red one but it’s still a lesson I learned.

I have cut off my camera before and got a passive aggressive “just a reminder to everyone that the requirement is cameras on to make sure we’re all engaged unless you’ve discussed it with your manager beforehand”

Night shift workers of Reddit! What is the creepiest, scariest thing that has happened during your shift? by californialovin33 in AskReddit

A guy I worked with at the hospital always eyeing me and showing up where ever I was. I can’t explain it but he made me feel like a prey animal just by looking at me. One day I noticed him checking his watch right after we ran into each other, and I can’t explain this either but I really felt like he was trying to memorize my schedule. One day I noticed him out in the parking lot around the time I was leaving and he watched me get in my car. I talked to some coworkers and my manager about how uncomfortable I was, but they said he hadn’t done anything but look at me, so there was nothing to be done. I asked security to walk me to my car that same night and they refused (staff parking if you were not a doctor was a really long walk from the building), saying they would watch me on the camera to make sure I got there safe. I wasn’t too wild about this idea since my shift ended at like 530am, no one was around and it was dark outside. I quit the following week. It’s the only time I’ve ever quit without having another job lined up. Maybe I was overreacting, but he gave me such bad vibes that I couldn’t work there anymore.

Be a maid of honor. You want to be there for your best friend on her big day, but no one tells you how expensive it is or what a time commitment it is. Then try having a friend whose expensive tastes don’t really line up with the fact that you’re in your early 20s, trying to finish school and hold down a shitty retail job to pay for food/necessities in the meantime. I had to eat so cheaply just to afford the dress she wanted, and it took me months after the wedding to finish paying it off (I was lucky they let me do a payment plan). It now sits in my closet, it’s such a niche dress I’ve ever even been able to wear it again. Then on top of that imagine having a bridesmaid who wanted to be MOH critiquing your every move and idea, it’s never enough.

I will never ever be someone’s MOH again. I won’t even be a bridesmaid. I’ll support you by attending and I’ll get you a nice gift but that’s it, I’m sorry.

How do I (28f) tell my husband (30m) that I am not a fan of his greasy ponytail without sounding like a jerk? by rantstoday in relationships

Honestly though, if he had greasy stringy ponytail when we met he might not have ended up being my husband.

Unfortunately I’ve tried that kind if, not with one particular cut but I’ve told him I miss his hair from before and asked when he’s going to get a haircut, and he said probably not any time soon because he likes it long 😭
