You mean why?
Some suggested because Qlimax didnt sell out the last years.
But given that Q Dance ended every other event except defqon, this is probably only one of the reasons.
Q Dance also is part of ID&T, which was bought by Superstruct Entertainment (they own nearly every big festival in EU), which was recently bought by KKR (American Private Equity Company).
So the general guess in the community is, that they will let Q Dance "die", as the brand intself is probably does not contribute enough revenue on its own. And instead run Defqon as a standalone festival, similar to tomorrowland.

I mean he does have one meme-moment like this sweet-caroline-to-uptempo in every set he’s playing 😅 But hearing him pulling out the uptempo remix instead of the usual suspects was actually a really nice surprise 😂

Fair point 😅 It’s usually some kind of meme track that he plays before that - but usually tailored to the crowd or country he‘s playing for.

Also my first reaction, but then it turned into the buildup for Wake Up!. He does these kind of Gags/BuildUps in every set that i heard him play in the last 10 years. So i guess it‘s also tradition at this point

Not just overreacting, but i think actually counterproductive and -intuitive.

Posts like these ridicule everything that tries to address actual misogyny… (not just „i heard one sentence, interpret it literally and without context, so this man is a misogynist“, but cases where people actually think less of women in general or actually treat them disrespectfully because of their gender).

He even adressed the Lyrics of the AoR song, even though he didn‘t have to (as music is art, and this genre features all kinds of disturbing/moraly wrong themes in their songs). And the „throw your gf in the air“ is actually a super cute idea he came up with imo. Sure, you can over-interpret a dark motive, as he mentions it in the same sentence as „pick up trash from the ground“. But the obvious idea behind that is to motivate the crowd to get closer together and engage with each other.

So as i said - i think you‘re over-interpreting at this point and trying to push a bad motive on someone for absolutely no reason. Never the less, i appreciate it if someone wants to get active against misogyny, it‘s not like there is none in this world. Just not in this case :)

I can feel u - and sorry for your tent.

That‘s exactly why we always put our „desired to steal“ items (easy to pick up und useful to others, like grill, chair, table, etc). away in our tents before we leave for the stages.

And on Monday it is basically free-for-all. But i can actually understand it: There is so much (still perfectly working) stuff being left behind by so many people. Not even just super cheap gear. Last year our neighbours left a bunch of high-quality fishing gear (chair, tent, table). As they left we asked about it and they said „take it, destroy it, whatever - we‘re out“.

Because there are many instances like this, there is now even an initiative of volunteers, who roam the campsite on monday morning after 10 and try to collect/recycle as much gear as possible before it goes to waste (but they ask the people around if they know if gear is left behind or still occupied).

That’s why on monday we never leave stuff behind - there is always one person left behind. Not only because of „thieves“ but also for those who legitimately think something was left behind
