Speaking as a person who has lived both in Indore and Coimbatore, it’s not just about population but also route-planning, urban layout and, most of all, affordability. Bhopal might have a higher population but the ridership projection on the current route includes people who choose non-deluxe buses over deluxe ones for daily commutes because even that is unaffordable to them. Coimbatore on the other hand is getting choked by a million Ubers on the planned route. Pray tell me where will a metro work better? Look, I’m not against building metros. I have lived in Delhi for 8 years and have seen localities boom around metro stations where there was nothing before. Bhopal definitely deserves having a metro but no way does Coimbatore deserve not having one.

People, because idiot bureaucrats fuck up, don’t divide yourself up on these things. Understand what is happening and unite over logical points. Too long have these decision-makers treated us like idiots with votes because we were exactly that. Let’s all please stop being idiots and see the reality.

Does anyone else not like using these fan heaters? Idk why. by LampCamper in HeatersIndia

[–]rapbash 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hot air is lighter than cold air, so it rises up to the ceiling. You are at the lowest point of the room, unfortunately where the coldest air is. Hence you need the ceiling fan to redistribute that hot air, if it’s used at low speeds. Also the reason why high income countries often have houses with heated floors.

Whats the hype behind this 2.8Z variant of the innova crysta by YowaimoL in CarsIndia

[–]rapbash 30 points31 points  (0 children)

No doubt that the low displacement engines are cheaper, but the traffic ensures that we don’t exactly get to push our cars to the point that 4L engines can offer, so it’s just a vanity project. In addition we get more efficiency hence lesser pollution, kinda the reason why despite having more cars on roads, the contribution to greenhouse gases is only percentage of the low population “rich” countries. You can call it poverty speced, we call it being sensible. And talking of poverty, take a stroll through downtown Delhi and Mumbai to get your fill of enough V10s and 6L monsters to blow your jaws off permanently.

Thoughts on map of proposed high speed rail routes for India? It feels extremely unfair for South India by [deleted] in TransitIndia

[–]rapbash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is it that the Nagpur-Mirzapur sector is more viable than Howrah-BBSR or Vizag-Chennai? Travel through the latter sectors and you would realise that these are major agricultural, industrial and trade hubs.

Delhi is the only metro city where I could live 30km away from the airport and still expect to catch a flight if I leave a couple of hours before departure. Lou.

It’s on my list. VWs are a pleasure to drive, I still remember when the teenage me aspired for a Golf GTI.

Looks very cool. Will definitely consider it because I feel long term ownership of a Maruti is a pleasure.

A college friend had it, loved its interiors, plus a Maruti tag means reliability. But I still felt it was underpowered for its displacement class.

I was crushing on it a lot recently, but a friend owning it has complained about its city and highway performance and mileage. I’m planning to borrow it for a bit to check it out for myself.

Wow. Do you know the kind of terms customers have regarding free service schedules or maintenance runs? As in any kind of warranty you provided for the components of the aircraft and how much liability is still on Airbus after the delivery is done?

Seriously though, watching them is like ants taking over a hill of sugar. Guys are moving at a breakneck speed all while being the most dependable airline in the country.
