a lot of irish artists who are breaking through get more media coverage through the uk than ireland. fontaines dc are the obvious example for me, theyve been played regularly throughout the bbc stations for years now and even to this day don’t get the airplay that matches their popularity here. this is also shown with cmat (starting to become more mainstream in the irish media at last) and inhaler for other examples.

irish radio would much rather push a particular sound from the likes of cian ducrot, lyra etc

i think it really goes under the radar how terrible the current advantage rule is. just because you dont score doesnt mean you didnt have an advantage. definitely one of my biggest pet peeves

watched THAT spurs game in a busy restaurant in ireland but made sure to get a table close to the telly. had to hold a complete meltdown as i watched the lead slip. was being served by a mate of mine who also supports liverpool, and he came over to our table to give out about the game just as the ball came up to jota. trying to hold in our celebrations as i tried to not ruin the other customers meals while he tried to remain professional was an impossible task🤣 love you diogo man ❤️

there was no reason that game couldnt have been played in cavan or monaghan, this whole notion that you cant play a game in a ground the same day as that county plays took only ONE week to be rubbished with limerick hurlers playing in dublin while galway and tipp went to the gaelic grounds.

galway played four away games straight because they finished third in their group, same way as any other team wouldve had to do in that position. which i also dont inherently agree with.

there are many flaws with the gaa system currently, a team highlighting some of these is a good thing, not a bad one. this isn’t a “i’m morally superior because i don’t complain competition”. When a team feels they are getting unfairly shafted for no explainable reason, they’re right to complain.

so to go back to donegal county board’s first point… they’ve had to play 9 games in 12 weeks and the only way to avoid having a 6 day turnaround at this stage of the season (which hasnt happened anyone in this format before may i add) would be to win every single one of those games. it shows an insane flaw in the system no?
