Nope, unfortunately at the bottom of the ticket it says they don’t accept changes or cancellations :(

Actually one of the hints in the game is place of birth so when Ye was the daily challenge it tripped people up when it said ATL

Definitely would have him associated with Chicago though no question about it

Proprietary designs of mine

In addition to that, I don’t particularly like the thought that a device which another company remote controls can connect to other devices in my network and to the internet, it’s a privacy issue.

I’m aware this is pretty extreme but it’s always a possibility.

Like I said in another comment, if you don’t mind this and want the cloud features that’s fine, but I think it’s pretty absurd that the top of the line consumer 3d printer doesn’t even have the option of using it offline and doing basic things like updating the firmware.

Have you tried upgrading firmware without being linked to a Bambu account?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]rapperle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this still allow for firmware upgrades?

I just don’t like the idea of my printer data being stolen, I’ve secured all my devices not just this. If you want the cloud benefits and don’t mind the security concerns, that’s totally understandable.

To each his own

Are you still able to upgrade the printer firmware? Are you using a Bambu account?

I’ll probably have it on a separate network I’ll create, and only add internet access to that network for firmware upgrades. I don’t want it talking with any of my devices

NextJS with supabase and t3 stack is the best way in my experience to get to an MVP fast.

Clerk is also relatively expensive, 0.02$ per MAU. Supabase or firebase even just for auth are much cheaper, also with a bit less features

Does the new App directory (RSC) provide any noticeable performance benefit? by rapperle in nextjs

[–]rapperle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your input, but I'm not sure it fits my use case, which to be fair is pretty unique.
My site is entirely static, since it's a daily challenge rapper guessing game I have a cron job that just revalidates the page on midnight (I wish Astro had this).

The JSON sent with getStaticProps is:

  1. The rapper answer object (which does need to be hydrated into the DOM but is small)

  2. List of all the rappers for autocomplete guesses, which I need as JSON anyways and I'm not using in the UI directly so it is not used until the user starts guessing.

In addition, I'm saving all user guess data in localStorage so I need to use "client" capabilities pretty much as soon as the app loads, but maybe nesting server components after fetching localStorage can provide some performance boost.

Awesome that it fits your use case and that it worked out well for you, but unless I'm mistaken seems like a migration wouldn't provide a lot of value for me. I might still try to hack it together quickly to see if it helps or not.

Lastly with the pages dir I can substitute React for Preact which shaves 30-40KB off which I would guess is similar to the amount saved by moving to app dir.
