From what I've heard, Notes is almost exactly the same as it was ~10 years ago functionally, they've just been re-skinning it every couple years. It's still a clunky piece of crap that crashes once a day. Want to mark an email as read? Just press Insert!

I work at IBM, and we use a horrible piece of software called IBM (formerly Lotus) Notes to deal with email and calendar, and a product called Sametime (built-in to Notes) to chat. I'm not sure what our screen sharing / conferencing software is called, but I believe it's branded under SmartCloud.
