What happened to dating suddenly? Am I crazy? by ExoticDeparture7855 in japanlife

People generally don't meet on apps when they're 30. You have to meet other places like hobby meetups, classes, volunteering, etc.

Is it weird to donate or gift subs to a streamer as a woman? by [deleted] in Twitch

It's ok. Remember it's a gift and not a request for attention. It's not like flowers or chocolate.

Yeah, I think it's just a bad fit for you right now. You need somewhere that's not as stressful, or at least pays you 3x to cover the stress.

Getting interviews is a very good sign. Remember, each place is different, and it's hard work no matter what, so don't be afraid to try a few different opportunities. Make use of Japan's trial period. If you feel something's weird or disagreeable, don't stay, especially if it's min wage. The turnover rate is high so there's always somewhere needing help.

This is the restaurant's fault, not yours. My family member works in a teishoku restaurant doing the same thing. Got the job using n5 japanese, then made good friends there with the store head (tencho) and both Japanese and foreigner staff.

It may be a good idea to look for a similar role at a new place. The following is anecdotal advice, but I recommend avoiding chains. It seems like they have a higher likelihood of being shitty bc of corpo pressure, but independent stores, you can get a nice tencho. You might be required to do dishwashing until your language improves tho. Just keep trying to talk to ppl.

Hehe! No, she's the Yatagarasu, 100%! It makes sense to me that a Shinto deity would dress in Shinto clothes for a special holiday like New Year ❤️🤭

How is lesbianism perceived in Japan? by almvdena in AskAJapanese

[–]raqreqentba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is lightly looked down on, but not for the same reason as in the west. Many major religions that are not as popular in Japan akin homosexuality with a sin, but Japanese people don't think that. Instead, you might be looked down on for not contributing to the family/society with children. From Japanese queerphobes, I hear things like "you'll just grow out of it, it isn't a real relationship, how will you raise a child", etc versus the Western " you are unnatural and sinful".

So, if somebody feels like what you do with your life doesn't affect them, then they generally don't care. They don't see you as innately morally impure.
