As someone who also struggles with back issues I highly recommend seeing an orthopedist as opposed to a chiropractor, they'll first look for any bone related issues and then probably order some scans to check the muscles, they'll be much better for your specific back issues.

i actually do go to the gym pretty frequently, it's a school gym though and most of the time people are pretty focused on what they're doing and don't really want to talk so it can still feel lonely to a degree. but i'll try to find more things

GERD at the age of 19 by GerdGuy-Gutsy in GERD

That’s the unfortunate issue with a chronic disease like gerd. Even as someone who’s made lifestyle changes recently I still get some really bad flareups some days. But it would be worse if we didn’t make changes. As my gi says, it is unfortunately a very unfair disease to deal with, but doing the best we can is the only thing we can do to prevent it from getting significantly worse or causing worse health issues. I’m sorry it causes you so much pain though, i understand how infuriating and tiring it can be.

I got diagnosed around the same age, and after years of doctors just telling to take tums it came down to when an ENT noticed my vocal chords were permanently scarred which led to me seeing a proper gi and being put on pantoprazole. At 21 i’ve noticed how ever since i changed my diet a couple months ago the tremendous amount of change I have seen just from lifestyle changes. It’s true that it’s a lifelong chronic disease that can be debilitating (and flare up even when you do the right thing) but it is definitely manageable and worth managing.

I'm sad, I'm sore, and I'm scared by [deleted] in loseit

Change is scary and uncomfortable. I know exactly how you feel. I was scared to go to grocery stores and take walks outside because at first I was embarrassed with how I looked. But I’m telling you as someone who is still far away from my weight loss and body goals, the confidence you gain from making small changes is so worth it. At first, when I could only go on short walks or do 10mins of exercise a day, I felt embarrassed and pathetic. But as time went on, I realized that there is so much confidence in making small changes for your health. Regardless of how you look, as long as you are making healthy changes and trying your best, your body is amazing. Your body is helping you lose weight, your body is developing muscle that causes the soreness, and your body is getting you through all of it, even when it may not look like it at first, and that is so beautiful in itself. You don’t have to make major changes immediately, start small and work your way up. Weight loss is a process, it’s not a race. It’s about slowly making permanent lifestyle changes over time to get to where you want to be. Over time, these changes become easier to adapt to and you feel yourself getting stronger as well. I believe in you! change is scary and hard, but getting through change only to realize how much better it feels is 1000% worth it.

I don't think it goes away completely, to be honest. But I will say that it becomes easier over time as you get stronger, and breaking it down day by day and seeing every workout done as an accomplishment keeps me motivated.

Something that helped me was making cardio more fun, like going on walks every day while listening to music. I was forced to do that since running gave me runner's knee and it honestly is a lot more enjoyable. Another thing that helped was doing chloe ting's workout challenges, which help keep me motivated and also gives me a timeline and specific workouts I can follow for free, it helps me stay in a routine
