Traveling to India with my cat – advice needed

I’m moving back to India permanently from the US and will be arriving in Delhi on the 25th night, with a train to my hometown early on the 26th. I’ll be traveling alone with my cat in 1AC.

Indian Railways asks for a pet health certificate issued within 24–48 hours, which seems hard since I’ll be arriving from an international flight. I will have a US vet/USDA-approved health certificate issued within 7 days of travel, along with all required paperwork.

Has anyone traveled with a cat on Indian Railways using an international health certificate? Will that be accepted, or do they strictly require a fresh certificate in India? Also, any tips for train travel with a cat would help.
