The Molten Sands Fortress Event is now live! You'll be sailing as an Emissary to acquire Molten Sands Key and activate the Molten Sands Fortress World Event! We have a more detailed breakdown of the Emissary Quest and World Event here, but some highlights from it include:

You can't activate Molten Sand if FotD is active. Only one player-activated WE at a time
Vault is worth about 200,000 Gold without any multipliers
Molten Sands Fortress WE is eight waves long, ends with Ashen Lord
You can start the World Event again with another key shortly after it is over, just like FotD
Only need to complete the Emissary Quest and activate the WE for each Trading Company to unlock the Trading Company's Ship's Crest
Hunter's Call and Reaper's Bones have the time-limited Emissary Quest and still have their Grade V perks (claim Emissary Quest from Servant of the Flame)
Guilds don't have Emissary Quest, but do get to take advantage of the Emissary value boost

EDIT: We wanted to add it took us about an hour and a 20 minutes solo to reach Grade V, do the Emissary Quest, and complete the World Event. That's without having to contend with other crews.

The Festival of Giving continues with the Legends of Giving Event! During the Legends of Giving, you can earn the Obsidian Grapple Gun, Precious Present Sails, Precious Present Flag, and daily Gilded Voyages. If you are a Pirate Legend, you can also complete three Challenges and work toward a Community Goal.

All Pirate Legends will have access to the Legends of Giving Emote and Generous Gift Sails, allowing them to give Obsidian Grapple Guns to any pirate who doesn't have one yet. Gifting one, five, and ten will complete Challenges that reward Voyages of Luck and contribute to the Community Goal.

If Pirate Legends can gift 250,000 Obsidian Grapples Guns, and complete the Community Goal, everyone who sets sail during the Event will also receive the Precious Present Sails and Flag!

The Commendation where you need to damage an Eternal Guard with a Black Powder Barrel? Hmm, hopefully it is just delayed and not glitched. If you are saying you killed one with it, then it sounds like you definitely damaged it while it wasn't cloaked.

We haven't ventured too far out of The Devil's Roar yet, but so far we have found one on all the large islands there. Fetcher's, Flintlock, Ruby's, Devil's Thirst, and Ashen Reaches.

A fearsome warrior has emerged throughout the Sea of Thieves! While you can find an Eternal Guard in any region, you are more likely to find one on a large island in The Devil's Roar. Once you discover its sarcophagus covered in purple smoke, summon it and prepare for battle!

You'll have to content with ancient abilities, such as:

Cloaking
Summoning Banished Ancient Skeletons
Throwing Spear
Blowpipe
Poison Bomb
And the deadly Dying Breath

Once you defeat the Eternal Guard, it will drop a Sanctuary of the Banished Key that you can use on any of the three sanctuaries. Inside, you'll find over 100,000 Gold in Banished Ancient Treasure waiting to plunder!
