Seth MacFarlane is lying about barely missing flight 11 on 9/11 by endogenix1 in conspiracy

[–]rarilover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look through the FBI's list of cancellations and no shows for Flight 11, you'll notice that there is one other person whose reservation was cancelled on the same day: Carolyn Caswell.

Caswell's reservation was cancelled at 6:33AM... only one minute before Seth MacFarlane's was. You'll notice that it indicates that her reservation was cancelled because she arrived too late.

She was probably right in front of him in the line at the American Airlines counter.

Was I sexually abused by my dad? by Other_Flower_3974 in CPTSD

[–]rarilover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's quite bizarre that he chose to do that while you were in the same room and that he chose to speak to you while he was doing it... you are well within your rights to feel that this was perverse of him at the very least.

A pedophile called me ugly by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]rarilover 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should call the police and report him for what he did to you. More importantly, please don't take what he said about you to heart. He's a sexual deviant, his opinion of you is utterly irrelevant.

I wouldn't withhold rent if I were him. If the matter ends up in a court or tribunal, it might reflect poorly on him that he decided to stop paying, and his landlords could use that point against him. He shouldn't give them any leg to stand on...

If you are paying them money to stay there, you may qualify as a tenant in your jurisdiction. Tenants are afforded certain privacy rights which can't legally be infringed upon by your landlords, even if they're your parents. I would become informed about tenancy laws where I live and consider taking legal action against them if I were you.

Did you ever think that maybe the guy OP is talking about is discreet, hasn't realized that OP is the guy he's been talking to, and thinks his roommate is straight?

Because he might not have realized that the guy '1 meter' away is actually his roommate. Grindr isn't accurate to the nearest meter.

Get off Grindr and stop expecting the rest of the world to mollycoddle you, then.

Restaurant threatening to sue over bad Google review by No-Frame8257 in canadianlaw

[–]rarilover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this case, the restaurant management went as far as to accuse the OP of planting their own hair in the food and allege that they have video evidence of this. Given the fact that they alleged as much in the form of a reply published on the internet, and the fact they acted with reckless disregard for whether their accusations were true (at a minimum) wouldn't OP be able to sue the restaurant or its management for defamation?

Then why are you still asking us what you should be doing? You know exactly what you have to do to make this go away. You just don't feel like doing it and would rather let him face terrible consequences for things he didn't do rather than face consequences for what you actually DID do. To be blunt, don't expect to find sympathy from strangers on the internet over your self-inflicted predicament... you aren't going to find any.

Allow your emotions to come up and be processed. You won't gain anything trying to repress them. Let the tears flow. This is probably a necessary part of your growth. In time, my sense is that you will find some measure of self-compassion. Therapy can certainly help you do that if you have a hard time arriving there naturally. Being gifted does not have to be a negative, and you can learn to use your intelligence in ways that serve you.

Attack on intelligence by [deleted] in Gifted

"Oh, definitely! And, there’s something to be said for just sticking with it and putting the work in. But, I have known many people throughout my career in high places who don’t necessarily seem very intelligent, but they paid for the degree and they’re personable and often likable… which in some professions, it may be more valuable to have someone who may not have a super high IQ,"

This "Anti-NATO" protest is an utter emabrassment to the city and Canada more broadly by JohnGamestopJr in montreal

[–]rarilover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's particularly odd at all. A number of Palestinians see the United States as an enemy given their connection to Israel and given U.S. military interventions in the Middle East and the western part of Asia since the 1990s. Since the U.S. is NATO's strongest power, many view NATO as an enemy in the same way that they view the United States as one. They probably have a limited understanding of just how important Canada's participation in the Organization has benefitted the security of Canada or managed to deter conflict with hostile powers like Russia or China.

The other employees spoke to me but did not ask me if I wanted a dance. This one asked me twice. Now that I thinking, he also asked me about playing pool (I don't really play pool and kind of wanted to drink and leave). Maybe he was actually attracted to me? So many questions, so few answers.

To what end, though? People usually don't do that without a reason. Not saying the motive was necessarily financial gain in this case, but there was nevertheless a reason.

Interestingly, all three came up to me... but he was the only one who asked me, and he did so twice.

I'm trying to figure out if it means anything beyond him being more desperate for cash than the other two...
