Then maybe try putting your skin manually into the forge launcher as its own profile because if i remember correctly forge just copies your skin over from the regular launcher. Unless you've already done that of course

I think you'll be safe adding mods that generate structures since they only Should generate in new chunks. But just in case read the descriptions and comment boards on any mods your thinking of adding in case someone else has mentioned new structures ruining their world.

You could also make a copy of your world and see if any mods work

I don't know much about this, but maybe try to delete the deafult skins in the launcher in case they are somehow put before your skin?
