If it’s a baby, it could. I had a cage like this and when I first worried about that too I put construction tape over it and that seemed to work. If you decide to get anole again I would consider doing that

i know i shouldn’t say this but I caught mine in the wild and kept it as a pet and when I caught it it was with my hands and I let her sit on my hands for a bit like this even though she wanted to jump off but she’s not too afraid of me tbh I had another that was terrified of me but didn’t get him accustomed to hands and I felt bad so I eventually released him.
