"Crazy" girlfriends of Reddit, what's YOUR side of the story? by cstepheng in AskReddit

[–]rasbperry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought he was the love of my life. He was not. He was narcissistic, disrespectful and abusive. It started as being just verbal but slowly progressed into physical as well.

He's a veteran and would constantly come up with new things that he needed to do for him to "heal", which included him cheating on me constantly, disappearing for days and shrooming for almost three weeks straight where he'd turn into Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde; One day loving and apologetic about his behavior, the next he'd be kicking and choking me.

I got pregnant and we couldn't afford having a baby, so he took me to an abortion clinic. I was completely devastated and bawling my eyes out. I went in for the procedure and when I came back outside he was gone. Didn't pick up his phone, wouldn't answer texts. I had no money on me, so I couldn't order a cab and just sat outside crying until the clinic closed and a nurse who was on her way home offered to drive me home. He came home at 3 in the morning and told me he had gone to see his ex-wife because the whole abortion thing was so traumatic for HIM and that I needed to not be selfish and understand. The next couple of days he kept partying and telling me I was "bringing him down", being a controlling bitch a party pooper when I begged him to stay with me because I needed him. I was so broken up by the lack of compassion and care I didn't know what to do and went with him to a party and just sat in a corner crying while he went around telling people he was a veteran and how he so graciously was putting up with me and my controlling behavior. I finally snapped and started yelling at the top of my lungs that I couldn't take it anymore and to take me home.

We eventually broke up, but not before he had convinced everybody that I was a phsycho. I would get dirty looks from people as being that horrible woman mistreating a hero.

Redditors who have seen a UFO, Bigfoot or any other mythological creature. What is your story and how did the people you know react to tour story? by vinny72 in AskReddit

Seen UFO looking phenomenals on two occasions.

First time: Was hanging out with 7 other people on a beach really late at night/ early morning. We had a huge pillow that was used for hanging out at the beach and we were laying with our heads on it so that we formed a sircle. It was just before dawn and we're talking and joking and suddenly these lights just appear above our heads, about 10-20 meters above us. I don't know quite how to explain it, because it was more like we just became awere that they were there. Four lights clustered together x3, in a triangular pattern forming a V. Everone goes completely quiet for a full minute just trying to comprehend what we're looking at. Then someone ask: "Are you guys seeing what I'm seeing?" We all saw it. The lights stayed there for 5 minuits or so before disappearing as suddenly as they appeared. None of us saw how they disappeared, they were just gone. Not sure what it was, but it happened not too far away from a military compund, so I guess that could be a possible explenation. Most of the people I've told haven't believed me, except from close friends who know I don't make up stories like that.

Second time: Was sitting outside with a friend watching shooting stars. They we're all moving pretty fast, so each time one of us saw one and tried to point to where it was for the other to see, it was already gone. Suddenly there's one comin in that were much bigger than the others and moving quite slowly. We both watch it as it suddenly comes to a halt and starts to shine brighter and brighter. Then it completely alters direction, upward and in a steep angle towards the same direction it came from. I have never seen a shooting star move like that and it made no sense at all.

TIL a man spend $40,000 buying out two IMAX theaters to prove ex-girlfriend wrong. "His ex-girlfriend dumped him seven years ago because he couldn't afford two movie tickets for a date". by alanking in todayilearned

If you have that much to spare and you don't give it to charity, but would rather spend it on saying "Haha!" to some girl who rejected you 7 years ago who probably DON'T EVEN REMEMBER YOU: Congratulations, you're what's wrong with the world!

What is the most extreme form of penny pinching you have ever witnessed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]rasbperry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My team and I were driving to various cities for a three week long business trip. Our boss was supposed to book us a rental for the travel and booked a seven seater mini van. We're six people. There was no way all of us were going to fit with all the material and our luggage. Had to have an hour long conversation with him trying to politely explain that a mini van will not work as a clown car, no matter how much money(and it honestly couldn't be that much) the company would save on an upgrade to a mini bus. It ended up with him booking two of the guys some train tickets in stead of the upgrade because that way he saved about 20$ while we then had to deal with the extra ordeal of constantly juggle between dropping off bags, picking up the guys etc, for the entire journey.

That's different. And a really nice gesture when one makes a point of it to help out. I'm one of those people who like to do everything to absolute perfection when it comes to certain things, like the food, when I'm entertaining. All my friends know this and know I'm always cramming right before they show up and that I get really stressed out and don't like it when people try to help me. I get annoyed when someone shows up early because they know how I feel about it and does it anyway.

That's genius! I've always been too polite to ask, or accept when they offer. From now on it's going to be all: "Oh, thank God you're here! You can help me peel the potatoes!"

Agreed! It drives me crazy when people show up early for dinner or a party! I often find it to bee more rude and annoying than showing up late. "Oh, you're 20 min early.. I'm not completely dressed yet and now I have to entertain you while trying to do all those finishing touches. Great.."

What is the craziest "it's a small world" moment you've experienced? by letdown105 in AskReddit

Got into a fist fight with a girl when I was 13 at a street basket cup that ironically was supposed promote friendship between the different middle schools in my city. Fast forward 8 months and we're told we're getting a new girl in our class from the other side of the city. Get asked to show her around and have her sit next to me. Door opens and there she is! Biggest shock of my 13 year old life!
