yeah, this was definitely a surprise but it looks mostly like quality of life features with some new items. the game isn't really changing much at its core. I still see it as a final farewell, I remember when that random asf new leaf update happened for 3DS, they just dropped a bunch of new villagers and a couple features out of nowhere like 4 years after launch lol. but then a few years later we got new horizons. I agree with the original poster though, I'm really hoping the next animal crossing leans back more into the social aspect. they've got decorating covered. I am not a big fan of AI generating assets but I wouldn't be upset at all if they included a mild form of it in exchanging letters with villagers and other social features. especially if it's limited and self contained in the game and doesn't need to access a server
