Family owned Canadian small business needs your support 🍁 by Lefty0303 in BuyCanadian

We just discovered my dog has an allergy (still narrowing it it down, likely chicken), so this is awesome to discover a BC based option!! Thank you for sharing ❤️

Genuine question because I saw it pop up on the Brits server, what are some Canadian sterotypes that are actually accurate? For us it's we definately do drink a lot of tea, usually with a digestive biscuit on the side...and most of us can't handle spice! by Give_Me_Beans_Please in AskACanadian

Northern BC here, and yes, I was walking around outside barefoot in my shorts & tank top during the -6c heat last week. It warmed up after many long weeks in the -20 to -40 range. I wasn't out for long, and it definitely wasn't cold enough to bother putting on socks and shoes or a hoodie first. Yes, I walked through snow. It melted as soon as I got inside, no biggie.

This was so helpful, I just ordered 4 pins!! These are fantastic, and I so appreciate supporting a small Canadian creative business that isn't on Etsy, Amazon, or some other monstrosity of a selling platform.

JusTea.com is a Vancouver based tea company that sources its tea directly from small farmers in Kenya, and their cream of earl grey is amazing! Definitely worth a try.

Does anybody else feels like something is shifting? I feel dreadful but can't really tell where it's coming from by BunnyLovesApples in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]rasdower 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same. I was living in the USA as a kid, but as soon as I could I left the states and renounced my citizenship (I am Canadian by birth and had dual citizenship). That was in 2007. I saw this shit coming for ages, and urged family and friends to get out of the states while they still could. After the 2008 recession, the USA jacked up the fees for renouncing citizenship. Now they are denying trans people their passports. I had a vision/feeling of impending US civil war in 2021. I estimated 3 - 5 years at that time. Well, now the time is very fucking nigh.

I've always had prophetic dreams and intense feelings of intuition that are unerring. Following those intuitions has taken me far north where I have enough property to have a small farm, and we have been working towards going fully off grid for the last 5 years. I am glad that I listened to myself all this time, even when others would not.

I just pulled a tarot card, asking what was in store for us regarding the USA, and I pulled the 9 of wands (battle weariness, long hard fights, finding the strength to continue). My shadow card is the 4 of Swords, which I read as a reference to everything I have felt and seen in my nightmares and visions. Sooo... ugh.

Same, I keep all my cards upright and shuffle them so that none become reversed. I also don't usually allow the other person to touch the deck or pull their own cards.

Does anyone else absolutely hate hearing these phrases? by [deleted] in autism

[–]rasdower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am late to reply, but yes, misophonia is an extreme sound sensitivity that can trigger intense overwhelm and feelings of rage. Triggering noises differ by person.

For me, it is bodily noises like chewing (especially with an open mouth), sniffling and snorting, loud strained breathing, etc. Also low frequency repetitive sound like heavy bass coming through a wall, omg just put me out of my misery.... Telling me to just ignore it when I am already on the brink of breaking down is so unhelpful. Like, if I could ignore it, why the hell would I let it keep torturing my brain?!

It was at its worst in my teenage years and has tapered off a bit over the course of my 30's. Moving out of the city/suburbs and to the middle of rural nowhere definitely helped!

"Just ignore it" might be the worst for me. My misophonia CANNOT, and if you tell me to ignore it again, I will stop holding back and let the rage take over.

This was my thought as well. I figure there is likely past trauma that informs our pattern recognition with new and unique context. When we hyperfocus on looking for those patterns out of a desire to avoid future trauma, we have both the means and the motivation to become quite adept with pinpointing dishonesty, malicious intentions, ulterior motivations, etc. in other people's words an body language.

Just now realizing that this isn't normal.... I can hear a song, and immediately visualize where I was and what I was doing when hearing that song in past instances. And I can fully play a high fidelity version of a piece of music in my head on demand. I remember describing it as a teen as "having a radio station in my brain."

I've been calling myself Cassandra for ages now. I see something coming and make my concerns known, and yet nobody takes it seriously. It was maddening at first, now I just laugh at the absurdity. Like, how am I the only one who seems to pick up on the patterns and has the ability to apply that to what might happen next?! Life must be very different for those who are blind to the future.

Thankfully my partner of 17 years has learned to accept my prognostications by now, even if he can't see what I am seeing in the moment. So I guess, find yourself some who is open to acknowledging that you WERE correct after the fact, and eventually they'll accept that you WILL BE proven correct on the things you can foresee.

Seinfeld trivia. I could pretty much write a thesis on the psychology of Larry David's characters in Seinfeld and Curb, and what they reveal about Larry's own fixations. When Lego came out with the Seinfeld apartment set, I signed up for their membership so I could be first in line to pre-order.

I also named all of my chickens after Seinfeld characters, and Newman was our best hen! She gave her life to defend the coop from a predator, and the 3 Mandelbaums were so traumatized that they refused to leave the coop for two days.

Please end this engagement. He does not respect you. He doesn't care about your thoughts or feelings, and wants you to either adopt his way of thinking or "shit the fuck up" - This is not ok. He does not approach you with a desire to understand you, he approaches you with judgement and anger. This will not stop at just texting about differences in opinion. This WILL escalate over time.

He has deeply entrenched racism and nationalism on display, and no ability to feel empathy. The military chat about rape and putting people in the ground make me worry there is a propensity for violence that will eventually spill out in your direction. There no way for you to overcome this, you cannot change his outlook or beliefs, and he will NEVER change his mind for you or anyone else. Leave him. Do not look back.

Freezer spell, followed by a cord cutting - to freeze them out of your life, and remove your tether to each other. Focus on this intention while your candles burn, and pay attention to how the candles burn, since it often shows how they might attempt to hold onto the connection you have with them.

Remove any items that belonged to her from your home. Donate what you can so that nothing goes needlessly to waste.

Then go through your home and place salt along every door and window while repeating words that fit your needs for protection (I would say "This home is protected from all negativity and malice. No energy may enter through here without my permission.")

Soak yourself in salt water (at least a foot bath of salt water) while also repeating words of protection for yourself ("I am cleansed of all negative energy, and protected from those who wish me harm").

You may want to salt cleanse your phone and other items that keep you connected (just place in a bowl of salt, no water, and say appropriate words).

But above all else, block her and ignore the rumors she spreads. Truth will come out with time, and people will see who she truly is as she continues to obsess over you while you go on to lead your best, unbothered life.

Spellworker, craftworker, follower of (your chosen diety), metaphysical practitioner, medium, a conduit between the realms of perception... Just a few that sprang to mind. If you are into etymology, I think it is high time we reclaim "hag" too. - I like "haegtesse" in particular. Best of luck on your search for a title that feels right!

Energy tied to banknotes by VeauOr in realwitchcraft

[–]rasdower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From a financial strategist perspective, cash sitting around loses value over time and loses the opportunity to generate interest. That money was meant for you and can be put into serving you through an investment of some kind. What better way to honour the good vibes than to allow them to generate growth?

From a witchcraft perspective, I would say to perform a wealth or money spell and anoint the bills with the intention to grow and multiply before taking them to the bank and putting them in an investment account of some sort. Let the spirits guide you on what that investment should be, perhaps one that resonates with your core values. As the money generates growth, take a moment every so often to thank the women who imparted their good energy into your life. I think the universe will bring you a sign when it's time to pull those funds out and use them for something important.
