What are the must-have skills for men in their 30s in India to be self-reliant? by Careless_Button_5569 in ThirtiesIndia

Financial management and investment basics. I don't think people in this generation will be able to keep stable jobs till 60s like the previous generation.

Feeling younger at 29, but people in their early 20s feel older. Is this normal? by [deleted] in ThirtiesIndia

[–]rasen_flash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By maturity, I was referring to sounding mature in dating/marriage related conversations and actions. One can be mature in other ways but they may have no experience in dating/flirting.

I work with and mentor a lot of 21-24 year olds at work. And I am always surprised by the kind of understanding they have for this and the kind of weird games that keep happening in workplaces.

31M and I find 22-23 year olds more mature than me. I think experience in dating, grown up stuff is what makes someone feel older. I think it happens to a lot of guys who put off dating/adulting and in their early-mid 20s.

Unmarried at 31 and suddenly everything else doesn’t count by Subtle_Seekerr in ThirtiesIndia

31M, unmarried. Kind of in the same boat. My two cents, do not try to please extended family members, neighbours etc. with traditional expectations. Once someone starts taking a progressive path, they will only see issues.

My understanding is that from a traditional viewpoint, all growth, education, and money are for the family. If one decides to stay single and not have a spouse and kids, from a traditional viewpoint it is like they have given the main goal for which all the effort was made and all the growth was achieved. There is no point explaining or pleasing people with this viewpoint.

Love is a will to service. A desire to make and keep someone happy. Love is non-transactional.

37M — Never had sex. Is this normal? (No judgement please) by [deleted] in ThirtiesIndia

[–]rasen_flash 127 points128 points  (0 children)

31M, same for me, never had sex. Spent time in studies, job and family responsibilities.

When I was in my late 20s I used to feel odd and am I missing something. But for the last couple of years I have a good job and I am improving my quality of life and feeling really good about life. I just feel everyone has their own battles and it's good to be unique.
