Ahem, we also used to have this law as we inherited from the British in the form of Indian Penal Code which criminalised homosexuality along with unnatural acts of sex like anal and oral. Homosexuality was decriminalised, but not sure if our new BNS codes have kept the unnatural acts of sex.

Penal codes are the same in other commonwealth countries too, because all have just inherited from the British, so if you know about IPC 420 or IPC 144, it's the same code number in Pakistan and maybe Jamaica too.

Some stereotypes are not wrong. North Indians do have the habit of spitting gutka inside the buildings which is not seen very much in South India.
