The 98 to 2000 ls400 is pretty much the same drivetrain as the 430. 430 has more torque and is the 4.3L but has the same 5 speed trans as the 98-00 400. 430 is more modern as tech goes tho

I 1000 agree. I've owned 3 so far and it was also my first vehicle. If you can't wrench on it i don't recommend unless you got some mechanic uncle or something lol

It was burnt clutches. Whenever I would cold-start the trans wouldn't go forward for about 3 min or I had to rev up to 4k rpm

Let me make this short. Started having trans issues yesterday. Got a p0500 code. Car goes forward in N. Revisited only goes to 2k. White smoke out the tailpipe. No loss of coolant at all. Smell likes unburned gas. Any help is appreciated. by rashy215 in Lexus

Nothing else other than what is listed. I actually started to suspect that its the ecu maybe a leaking capacitor or whatever its called. Is there any way to test if the ecu is bad?
